Airport fears and luggage

when it comes to flying, most people fear the actual flying part. what do i fear? security and boarding...

I always seem to make a fool out of myself while going through security, whether it's taking out too much stuff, forgetting where i put things, not knowing what all to put in the bins, or (as happened the other day), dropping my bag and having half the contents spill all over the place... grumbles and excessive sighs from both the security people and the people standing in line, mutters of "are you kidding me?" and other rude comments all around, though no one bothered to help me pick things up. held back tears as i gathered my things quickly, though couldnt hold back long and cried on the plane...

then there's boarding, or rather having to put my luggage in the overhead bins, which i can barely reach, which holds up the line, and irritates people more. basically i want to just not have carry on bags anymore...

Hey don't worry about it
I've had anxiety before. I work for an Airline too. To be honest the airline employees don't like Tsa. They don't know how to treat people. They are also the biggest thieves in the industry.
They really the ones who see stuff on a screen when it goes through , not us.
Also Google Tsa and look at all the scandals and how corrupt they are, celebrities even had issues with them
So don't feel bad about looking foolish.
If Tsa takes off their uniform, they ain't sh*t

My most anxious time on the plane is taking food out of the hosties hands. Scared my hand will shake. I hate it when the passenger next to me spreads his elbows and they poke my side.

Then there is getting on a plane back to the town I live, and hoping I don't see anyone I know.

If it's possible for you, I find that travelling light makes things more simple. Even more simple is having very few carry-on luggage, as you said yourself. I usually only carry a small bag with a book, my cell phone, my mp3 player, my passport and some money. Don't wear a belt, a watch or jewelery and don't keep anything in your pockets. This way, you only have to put your bag, your shoes, your hat and your coat in the bin, so it's no puzzle. Also, since you only carry a small bag, it doesn't have to go in the overhead bins, because it will fit under your seat. It also makes it less complicated when it's time to leave the plane.
