being called out by a teacher

I hate when teachers call me out for being quiet or shy!
idk what they think they're resolving when they do it because DOESN'T help! I think it just ruins our confidence even more.

I remember in 7th grade my sign language teacher called be out in front of the WHOLE class for being too shy and she made me look like a total loser , she started off by asking me what I was going to be when I grew up and of course being only 13, I didn't know! so then she was like "I just can't imagine , you're the shyest person I've ever met, blah blah blah" (i don't remember the exact words but i'm pretty close!) then a lot of my class mates started making comments about me (well about my personality) and I was just sitting there with this face -> 8O on, and just when I thought it was over, she was like "See, you don't even show any expressions" (yes she said that!) whatta biachh! the rest of the year in that class was hell every time I spoke people would be like "Omg Mrs. Dixon shes talking!! or "Omg she talks! If only my teacher would've asked me in private, it wouldn't have been so bad..

.....anyone else have a story about being called out :?:
i bet you its not as bad as mine

ohh teachers are really annoying. I used to have similar experiences however normally they would ask, "are you alright", "what's the matter?" There was this one teacher who I really hated cos he always used to say how quiet I was in front of everyone. One day I was just speaking normally to one of my friends in class and he said "omg kate is talking...." therefore he made everyone stare at me and I was  lol. Then for no reason he said "do you study english kate?" do you know everyone that is quiet studies english. I was huh wtf. What's that got to do with anything. I never went to his lessons much after that..:D

I suppose that teacher was the kind of person who says thinks like that. My geography teacher in Year 8 was similar. She didn't embarrass me (much), but she did once comment on how I enter the classroom without smiling. She asked me to try smiling as I enter the classroom (in an offensive way). This attracted the attention of students in the class, which wasn't very pleasant.

I think your teacher thought she had a reason to comment on your behaviour as if it wasn't rude.

BTW how old are you now?

My teachers are great actually! They tend to not call on the ones they know are quiet. The loud mouths get all of the attention. Which is perfectly fine with me! The kids were bad when I was first starting high school. I was even called a 'mute' once. And, I was too embarassed to stand up for myself. But now when I am called quiet I just tell the person I'm only not talking to them because I don't like them much. Which in most cases is true... :D
