Can blood type determine mental illness?

Crap... I just had this idea and starting researching online and realized it might actually be true. I have the same blood type as Marilyn Monroe for instance and watched a documentary about her. She suffered all this mental illness. I could relate to a lot of it. CRAAAP :eek:mg:

blood

I don't know about this one. Blood types seem way too general to categorize such a large number of people. I'm sure people of all blood types have social anxiety, and other issues. I have the most common blood type, O+. According to this my personality is... "Type O’s are outgoing, and very social. They are initiators, although they don’t always finish what they start. Creative and popular, they love to be the center of attention and appear very self confident." Definitely definitely not. These descriptions are pretty vague and could fit a whole lot of people. Often times when people read these things they'll find one 'clicks' with them and attach on to it. However, they might be able to do that with all of them. Maybe I just don't believe in categorizing everyone is such a vague way, but this doesn't seem very solid to me. :idontknow:. This one fits even less to me than my astrology sign.

Blood Type Reveals Personality - Know Thyself - RecipeApart

I don't know if it true... just maybe has something do with it. Could just be like the astrology stuff...

No information on the author is given, aside from his name, "Roshi".

No sources are linked anywhere on the page.

The website is described the following way:
"Enjoy Zodiacs, Know Thyself, jokes, fun stuff, inspirational stuff, Informatory stuff, Entertainment, movies, Music, religion and more at ReciPeApart."

When checking stuff out on the internet, you should always pay extra attention to 1) the author and his credentials 2) references and their credibility 3) whether the site appears to be credible.

Trust me, if blood types actually had any impact on mental illnesses you'd be reading about it on the new york times, not shady spirituality-focused blogs.

I wouldn't put too much weight in it. It's kind of like horoscopes. They say something that is kind of vague and hard to confirm or disprove and at the same time it compliments you a bit to make you trust it a bit more. You also might find something that describes you in each of the groups. Also what surewhynot said about the author and it not being referenced. I tend to disregard anything that doesn't properly reference it's sources and isn't published in a peer reviewed scientific journal
