Career

I'm currently a college student studying a broad range of subjects. I'm in a class that helps you figure out what you want to do for a career.

I think about this all the time because I already applied for an art course but was declined. I studied in human services, I enjoyed it but I found it very challenging. I looked into business, but it was too dull for me. I also looked into working with computers but I think it would be too repetitive.

I'm stuck I want a career I would love I don't want to choose the wrong thing. I thought deeply and I know I don't want to work with computers or business to boring I guess. I enjoy helping people but I don't think I want it as a career, and for art I just don't feel like drawing all the time.

I thought hard, very hard. I think what I would like to do is work with animals, because I love them more then anything. I started looking into wild life conservation and I love the sounds of it.

The problem is it takes a lot of memory, math, and science. I'm scared I won't be able to handle it. I really want to do this but if I fail I waste all that money. I even went to student services and asked them about upgrading courses. So next year I will be taking 3 math courses.

I don't know, I never bought into the conventional idea of loving your career. I went with IT because it's stimulating and puts me around people I typically like, even though it's not something I'd frequently do as a hobby in my spare time. I write freelance on the side and earn jack squat. I think the number of people who can make it in something they truly love is small, and those ones have to treat it as work. Even for a writer, you have to work with a publisher, have an image, and think about what you can sell on top of being damned good.
