Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

I thought I had that a few years ago but I always attributed it to the very physical job I had at the time. It could have also been the Paxil I was taking and later Lexapro. Maybe you should read up more on the side effects if you're taking medication. If not check with your doctor to make sure there's no problem there. Good luck.

Hi NewYawker83! :)

We have actually been discussing this in more detail in another thread a while back. You might want to have a look. Just scroll down if you will go directly to the part about the fatigue.

Here is the link:

Hope you find at least some of it worth reading and some good advices to cope with this condition. At least make sure to read the two last articles I referred to at my last page at page 2.

I can repeat the links here:

Treatment of CFS and explanation of Dr Selye's CHART ^^:

P.S - I am a living witness to the fact that these treatment principles (much rest in the initial stage + pacing and gradual exercise) works. I was very sick about two years ago and by understanding and following these principles I recovered dramatically. If you are very ill you need to be patient as it can take some time before you start seeing improvement. As Dr.Selye suggests when you first start to rest your symptoms might increase in intensity the first days/weeks until you slowly are getting better. Be aware though that when you start to feel better and you feel close to cured, you might end up pushing your body extensively once again and not before long you end up where you started.

Best of luck!
