Coffee and fags

Hi folks!
I suffer from hyperhidrosis. Firstly it was under the arms, from about aged 18. Managed to get it under control with driclor.
Now I have generalised sweating due to an unfortunate reaction to an alternative therapy, my first post on this site was about this.
I do believe that their are many reasons we sweat, but I think most of us here have an hyperactive nervous system.
Recently I have stopped drinking coffee. My sweating is less pronounced under the arms, in fact my normal anti perspirant works fine if I don't drink coffee, and then if I have a cup, esp filter coffee I start to sweat under the arms again. I use driclor for two - three months, thats normal for me now. I still drink coffee often but not if I'm going to a social situation.
I also smoke, this seems to make me sweat all over my body if I have a lot of ciggies, but I would be suffering the ill effect for most of the next day. I've only noticed this since I've cut down. Only have one or two.
I know that there are extremes of hyperhidrosis, and I'm pretty sure I'm not in the worst category by a long shot, although maybe I thought otherwise before I got it more or less in control.
I think that the lifestyle of the hyperhidrosis sufferer probably involves a lot of hiding in their room, smoking fags and drinking coffee, but it's not a good idea, and for me caused and exacerbates the problem.
I think all caffeine and nictotine and stimulants will have this effect.

Doesn't surprise me at all. I've noticed some small things which cut it down (not enough on their own of course). For example exercising does wonders, I avoid spicy (hot or just weird tasting stuff) and exotic food as well. But glad to hear this works for you as well. And just curious as well if you've used Avert (ahah just posted my experience of it).

Cheers,

I imagine those things make it worse, it makes sense.
My son however doesnt drink coffee, smoke, or anything, and has it on his hands.
