Delayed social anxiety

Does anyone else experience what I call "delayed social anxiety" -- where you develop enough confidence (or techniques) to meet a new person, start a new job, or begin a project, and then fall back into a worried, insecure place after the "honeymoon" is over? What do you do about it?

yea I get this sometimes. The thing to remember is that you have managed to cope with the hardest part and thats the first day/first meeting. Anything after that IS easier, no matter what your mind is telling you.

yes i have experienced this, its called a 'setback'
I get it about once a year and it can last up to 4 weeks. when i am feeling this way, i try to get away for the weekend or for a week (holiday or something) to give myself a change of scenery. that works like magic for me, i come back feeling rested and with more faith in myself to keep up the good work and challenges!

yes i started a job cleanin as i thought that would mean i wouldnt have too much social contact . whilst i was new everything was fine although i was a bit nervous! but as soon as people started letting on to me daily and got more settled and talking , i bottled it and left. is that what you would say was delayed anxiety. This also happened when i started a college course everyone was fine , exept me ! so i left
