Diarrhea problem every week - help!

Hey!

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but here goes. I have some problems with my defecation. I went to the doctor and took a blood and a defecation sample. The samples were negative so I'm good on that point.

Problem is that I get a light form of diarrhea once or twice a week which lasts for 24-48 hours. This has been going on for a few years. When I have diarrhea I go to the toilet 4-5 times a day. My defecation varies - sometimes it's in pieces, floats sometimes and colors the water brown - and sometimes it's more fluid. I get a stomach pain before going to the toilet.

When my stomach is well I go 2-3 times a day. The defecation is never in one or two pieces, but instead in more pieces. Sometimes I feel like I don't get all of it out, so I need to go to the toilet once more a couple of hours later.

I'm a male, 30 years old and go to the gym (weight lifting) three times a week. I drink around 1-2 liters of water every day.

My wish is to get a more solid defecation and to limit my toilet visits to max twice a day.

Does anybody have some advices? :)

Have you tried eating some yogurt? Or better, Greek yogurt.

I did eat yogurt every morning some time ago, but that was fruit yogurt. I don't think it's the same as Greek yogurt. I will give that a try. Do you know if it's a good idea to add some muesli or something similar in order to take away the "sour" taste from the yogurt?

It is not the same indeed. I see no problem adding some muesli, I usually add some sugar to the yogurt, but I know it's better not to.

I think you need more water if you're physically active, at least 1 gallon a day. Also, do you eat enough fiber?

Fruit yoghurts have sugar in. Cut out sugar, it reduces candida in the gut. Eat more pro-biotic food

Wow, what a popular topic already. Everybody poops!

Too much alcohol (common with SP) can lead to diarrhea.

Not enough regular fiber contributes.

Also, anxiety, including social anxiety, can cause diarrhea. Fun stuff!

Read here and here about that.

What is your diet like? You may be allergic to something, also stress can play a part. You should really push to see a better doctor. That may book you in for an oscopy (?) - a camera that goes into your intestines to check if everything is okay. Sometimes there can be a pocket injury in the intestines that can collect material waste and block things a little.
I would also test to see within your diet if you are allergic to something - as it sounds irregular.
Maybe even seeing a nutritionist might help -

@Haryun: I will try to drink more water. I do eat a lot of fibres.

@NathanielWingatePeaslee: Well that's an eyeopener. I didn't know that. I do have social phobia and I'm naturally very worried about everybody's well being.

@grapevine: I eat healthy mostly. Mostly I avoid anything deepfried. I get fastfood once or twice a week. I have for a week kept a log over what I have eaten each day and I continue this log for at least one or two monts to see what triggers my bad stomach!

Do you know what I can do to "poop more"? I know I can never empty my stomach completely, but sometimes I feel like I have to go pooping just two hours my latest poop. As if I didn't get it all out the last time! (I do sit correctly on the toilet, with feet above the ground and me leaning a bit forward).
