Dislike of my own country

I don´t think I have any special dislike of my country.. I don´t know, it seems to me rather average, probably because I am used to it. Only sometimes when I come from abroad it seems to be somehow rougher/ruder, no glove treatment. But with time I get accustomed to it again.

I'm from Japan and I definitely don't hate my country. But there are many things in current Japan that I feel dissatisfied or uncomfortable with. I especially hate traitorous politicians, anti-Japanese media and education, weak and subservient diplomacy or foreign relations, and some Japanese people who have anti-Japanese ideology and betray Japan. Anti-Japanese ideology is a kind of self-hating thought and derived from the American occupation after WWII. Politics, media, and education are heavily contaminated by anti-Japanese ideology and are the worst part of Japan, in my opinion. Most Japanese politicians are traitorous and try to sell Japan to different countries regardless of their parties, left or right ideological differences, or whether Diet members or local politicians. Anti-Japanese and traitorous problems inside Japan or among Japanese people are pretty serious.

Japan has a very good living environment, public safety, and a lot of good traditional cultures. But anti-Japanese problems and traitorous politics make Japanese society really negative and depressing. There are too many Japanese people who are anti-Japanese or try to sell Japan to other countries. I think that having anti-Japanese ideology inside is the biggest issue of Japan.

I used to love my country but then I left and came back, and now I think it's somewhere in the middle.

There are definitely better countries out there.

I like the country I live in, Germany. There are two or three other countries I'd rather live in (mostly scvandinavian countrise), but compared to the total number of countries on the planet, the one I'm in now has a pretty good rank. Also, I got my friends here, so I won't move.

I like Germany, because:
- it's the board game nation
- it's the dark culture nation
- people are open minded and friendly (reasons like this of course not only apply to Germany but also to certain other nations)
- social security, public transportation, health insurance and the like are pretty good
- the climate is fine, snow in the winter, hot in the summer
- friendly open minded people
- getting a job is quite easy if you live in one of the larger cities
- the central european location is good. Within a few hours I can be in Paris, Rome, London and so on.
- technology level decent
- free education at schools, universities and the like
- people don't carry weapons around (at least 99.9% of the people)
- the political landscape is interesting. The "pirate party" is quite new but got some decent results some time ago, more than certain established parties
- the country is slowly getting rid of nuclear power plants

There are also reasons why I don't like Germany that much, though that applies to most other countries too:
- corruption
- living costs are very high (unless you live on a remote village)
- you don't earn a lot in most jobs, compared to what you have to spend

If I wouldn't built up my circle of friends here over that many years, I'd probably move at least temporarily.

I think its easy to project your inner issues out and blame the whole than to truly look within.

That being said, I used to feel the same about my country

America is a great place is you have loads of money. People will treat you nicely, doors will open, opportunities will come easy, God will bless you with granite countertops, there will be nary one speck of dirt on your Lexus. However, if you are middle class or poor then the punches will come fast and hard as the rich try to devour what little you still have all while telling you that you are blessed to be living in the best country ever so just roll over and play dumb!

Yes, that can be said for a lot of the Western countries.

I hate it when a government fudge figures for statistics, making the country seem better then it actually is.
Every Western country is great if you where born into a wealthy family, or at least inherited a successful family business.
It is not a coincidence that a lot of the polititians in my country are former laywers; therefore they have a talent for twisting the truth for the benefit of a few.

same thing. I'm not proud of being pinoy. The movies and tv shows are lame. The comedies, I really didn't laugh at it, I hated the pinoy celebrities. Annoying and no manners. I'm only proud of being pinoy because of its history and culture. The politics okay, Philippines having their own freedom from those dictatorship years. I love how Filipinos became strong for freedom but now everything's different. everything is so dramatic, including the media.

You probably won't understand the language but look how this chick acts with no manners.

I feel almost the same way as you are! I really don't like the Filipino TV shows as well, especially those annoying noon time shows like Eat Bulaga at It's Showtime! Noon-time shows are getting worse nowadays! The jokes are not funny and they are insulting most of time! I don't know why many Filipinos enjoy them, even if they're not good anymore... Those trends or so-called pauso are so annoying (like the Tagalog song about the 3 ducks and this annoying love team from Eat Bulaga and the 3 annoying gays wearing a wig at Kalyaserye! I hate them so much!)! And I don't like too much love teams or exposure of these celebrities! I mean, celebrities should not be idolized or worshipped and people should not be like them! And also the government shouldn't allowed a former dictator to be buried on the heroes grave! That is so wrong! And also a good president should be equal to everyone and has a nice attitude and not someone who is arrogant, mean or cuss / says bad words too much! I'm really disgusted to the society nowadays so I really pick my friends very carefully! This is why I am never proud being a Filipino and I wish I was a Norwegian, Japanese or a different nationality instead... :( :/

To the OP, you're not alone. I don't belong in this country or I'm not proud of this country and I'm somewhat misanthropic as well because of the annoying people here and supporters of the president / love teams here to be honest... People should NOT worship or like these people / celebrities if what they are doing is wrong or just having attention to the public... I really choose friends very carefully (and don't bother on the people I don't like) because of what's happening to the news / society nowadays... :/

Me too! I'm NOT proud of being Filipino because of the annoying TV shows, especially those noon-time shows like Eat Bulaga and It's Showtime! Their jokes are not funny and it's all just utter nonsense... I don't why many Filipinos find them entertaining and I hate it that there's always a love team every single year! I don't like The Buzz too! Yeah, sometimes Boy Abunda says something not nice even though showbiz / celebrity life is like that... Ugh! Celebrities shouldn't be idolized and worshipped & people should not be like them! Most celebrities can be annoying and bad influenced as well! I don't know why many Filipinos want a president who is foul-mouthed / cuss too much, arrogant and bad influenced! A good president should be equal to everyone and not someone who says a lot of bad things! I wished people voted for a better candidate than Trump and Duterte! Life is stressful because of them! :/ :(
