I did something totaly out of character yesterday..... Espeacily as my main lack of confidence and anxiety comes from my appearance.

Was at the docters office trying to get appointment to see a docter, after receptionist told me they were all booked up as I was leaving I said "I would never normaly say this, but you have the best smile and are gorgeous".

She smiled and said "you've realy made my day" then I turned around and left.

As I was walking out the door she goes "I think you forgot something" and im like ?? she goes "you forgot to get my mobile number"

=) =) =)

quite proud of myself realy. Because I wasnt trying to pick her up, just genuinely wanted to compliment her (and make a small step towards overcoming my anxiety with apperance. )

Perhaps im not as hideously deranged as i think i am :p

Yes as long as it's sincere. the only time they wouldn't like it is if they are going out with someone or married and then it would depend on the context it is said and the individual you say it to. Unfortunately, most of the time it's said it's a guy trying to get some.

I think that is not a good thing to say but maybe tell her that she is precious or something that tells her how much she means to you inside would be much better.

i love being complimented. i kinda need it since I can't see anythig good in myself unless other people tell me there is something.
there was this guy I met a few weeks ago, we were kinda going out together like 4 times and he always told me i was beautyful and he loved my eyes and stuff like that, and I did believe him because he had that look on his face, like I was the most precious thing he had ever seen.
of couse I also thought he was nuts xD I believe anyone who likes me, must be crazy xD

Like with any compliment, I don't believe a person is being completely sincere if they tell me that I look nice-- so I guess for me; it depends on who says it.

I don't like it at all.
The word- when directed at me, seems like something completely different from what it means when it's directed to anyone else. Anyone who is actually beautiful.

I did like it when my boyfriend would tell me daily; how lovely I was.
That was a nice feeling but it also seems like he was lying all those years as well-- since it doesn't seem to matter how great I was; he still 'fell out of love' with me and left.
oh well.

It depends on who says it - if the word can be taken seriously and make a person feel good about it, I think.
