Do you work with the public?

I work in a fast food restaurant - part-time whilst I'm still studying. I deal with A LOT of customers in 1 day, I'd say hundreds. It doesn't even feel like I'm communicating with people, I just say the same repetitive thing over and over again. I'd say it helped me get over meeting so many people but honestly, my work is so different to actual communications with people I'm still socially awkward as ever.

For me, when I worked jobs in public, etc, it has *always* improved my social skills overall. It forces you to be more attentive and keeps you sharp. So in a way while the social anxiety can still be bad at work (varies, though), it helps you keep your social skills sharp for everything outside of work.
