I'm not diagnosed with OCD, but I know I have it.
I feel the same way right now. I feel as if the pressure of life is just too mcuh to handle. Depression runs in my family and that may be what it is for me. May I suggest you see the doctor and find out if something like that is causing your stress.

This is for the both of you.

I have felt that way before. I have had OCD for about 5 years and I can say things get better. If you want it gone bad enough you will find ways to fix it. Family, friends, counselors, psychiatrists (if necessary), hobbies, and anything else you can do to either get your life going again or get a better understanding of what it is can help tremendously. I have fought it mostly on my own and with help from friends and family, but with NO medication and no therapy. I am not saying therapy is bad, because it could be the cure-all for some. DON"T GIVE UP!! It's not worth giving into. There are things that can be done to fix it. After 5 years I am 100's of times better and the problems I have today are minimal. I am thankful everyday that I didn't give in, and I kept fighting.

I wish you the best of luck!

I have also had OCD for 5 years now, except i feel the same way you do. For a while it got better and now its back again, worse than ever. I feel like i'm waisting my life away and feel like i'm never going to get better so whats the point in even living. I know im not helping by saying all this, but im just letting you know your not alone. :?

Yep, huge thing to do is keep researching OCD. Read, re-read, write, re-write, and keep gathering up as much information about OCD as you can.

There are numerous books out there that are great for understanding OCD. My favorite is Brain Lock.

I read this book about five times.

Another great book is Imp of the Mind....

Once you have a ton of information on OCD and you continue to read about it; you'll quickly understand that OCD is managable.

Your symptoms may never go away completely, but having the understanding of what you have is a huge step to getting better.

I've had OCD my whole life. It's not something that you'll ever completely get rid of because your brain is going to have 'those thoughts'.

The key is what you decide to do with the thoughts.

Good luck,

I also havn't been diagnosed with OCD but it's sadly obvious i have it along with GAD as the too little bastards seem to enjoy feeding off one another. I do have very bad days where i feel very down, because i feel so ashamed i can't control it. I'm trying to go cold turkey today from all my pathetic rituals which rule my life, i'm so determined to do this myself, but i think its also because im too stubborn to see anyone about it. Does anyone know of anything you can buy over the counter that would help?

I totally agree with you which is why it seems so insane that i still do it. My anxiety however sometimes just keeps nagging that if i don't do something, something bad will happen...and i know when i read this i feel insane, but when your caught up in feeding your OCD your forget all that. I justdon't know how to mentally stop the thoughts... any suggestions?

Dont fight it very hard.If those thoughts are comin let them come. They will go away anyway.Remember that is ur brain playin tricks on you and you not the only one.
Try to think on something else or do something.
If doesn work just keep it in your head that it will all disappier and then you look back and wont belive yourself you had them thoughts. And then dont start thinkin about it just move on and dont visit forums like that i think im gonna be off this topic as this wont help i think it makes it worse.Definately worse.

OCD

Don't get lost and keep fighting because is not fun to carry rocks in the aftre life. Let the thoughts go, the brain produces over 5000 thoughts a day, and don't bother with them. Reduce stress and make a doctor visit because it may be a thyroid problem.
