Does time really fly?

I know we've all heard it before how time goes by fast or where did the time go? But has time honestly been like that before or is it really in people's perception that it goes by fast. In some situations I think there are cases where times actually DOES go by slow if you're doing something you don't enjoy and it could be anything really, if someone doesn't enjoy working, being in school, or even gets bored, they'll be more inclined to say that times drags on slow for them. I found myself even thinking time goes by slow when I did certain things that exaughsted me or bored me. I talked to this one person about it and she goes "It really does fly." But how does it fly by if it always has consisted of 60 seconds in 1 minute. I don't think time has shortened or extended longer, I want to think it's pretty much the same as it always has been. So, is it just all in our heads depending on the situation we're in?

I think I heard a physicist say that time was basically "the perception of change". And since everything is decaying and becoming disordered there is always change there therefor theres time, as long as someone is there to witness it? I dunno I find it confusing. But Im guessing time is simply relative to the individual and thats why we keep time, otherwise we'd all disagree as to just how long it takes for a series of events take place. Sorry you shouldnt have gotten me started haha.

For me, time goes by fast if I'm doing something that I like. I'm in college right now and it's my junior year, the school semester started last month, my birthday was 4 weeks ago, and it all felt like it was just yesterday.

time is merely a human concept and therefore incapable of flight. time does not have wings.

but seriously, "time flies when you're having fun" is a saying i've heard all my life. time is not literally going faster or slower. you're just either enjoying something or not enjoying it. of course things are going to feel like they drag on when you're in a situation you dont particularly like. you're probably wondering half the time when it's going to end. but when you're enjoying yourself, you're probably not at all focused on what time it is, so it seems to go by faster, because you probably haven't been checking the time every 5 minutes wondering when it's going to end.

Flow of time is relative, but on Earth it flows at a very consistent rate. When people say that time flies it has to do with their perception. I'm not sure exactly on the specifics, but that when time seems to drag on longer/shorter it's your brain taking things in at a different rate.

I'll teach you a way to "speed up time" when you're doing something you don't like. Avoid looking at the clock. When you're doing something you don't like doing you look at the clock a lot and become aware of how slow time really is.

Also when you do look at the clock do not round up. So if the clock is at 3:25. Do not round up and think "Oh cool it's 3:30". Because seven minutes later if you look at the clock it will be 3:32 and you'll be like "that 2 minutes took forever!". If you round down it appears to go faster

So avoid looking at the clock and when you do look at it round down
