Escape from stress

My mother was yelling at me. Loud noises raise my stress levels regardless of who they're from. I went down to the isolated laundry room in my apartment building and got three bags of chips from the vending machine and ate them sitting on the black couch. I enjoyed the nearly expired flavor of the chips. There have been many times where I just leave my home because of stress and want to sit in isolation, away from people. It calms me down.

I agree. To me it makes sense to distance yourself from the source of your anxiety (usually people) when you get too anxious. Sometimes I just need to hear myself think, or not think at all, away from people. To be me, not someone's daughter, or someone's colleague or friend or neighbor, etc.

I hate just going out to a crowded grocery store for food, let alone coming home to chaos. Sorry to hear that's something you still have to put up with.

Sounds like a bad environment especially for a needy person, Needy not in a bad way, just matter of factly. I'm the same way, desperate for support because so little has been received in my past, to the point where my mind is just fed up with every little reminder o the lack of it, and yes my mother appears as the main trigger too. I don't know what to say, other than get yourself a small part of life outside of your house. Just even a 5 minute walk if you're at your worst, or a job if you're at a functional place. Get out of that house environment, someting tells me they don't get you and don't know how to help you, maybe even have taken their own negativity and put it on you, but most likely i'm projecting. You can PM me
