I promised myself never to look at porn again but i guess that being unemployed i've got too much time on my hands. Anyway on Friday i broke my promise and looked at porn on the internet again

After looking at it i feel guilty because it's against my values of respecting women. After looking at porn i often view women as sex objects and i know it's wrong, it's not me! I feel brainwashed almost. Sometimes i feel having internet access ruins me because it makes it so accessible. The girl i am friends with and the object of my affection is dead against promiscuity and she's a Roman catholic so i feel as if i am betraying her, although i have never done anything physically with a girl i still feel i am betraying her (she told me that i am a nice sensitive man and wishes everyone was like me)

Do any other guys feel guilty after looking at porn?

I don't feel guilty about it, but I have decided to curb it because I overdid it and it started occupying my thoughts. Porn can get addictive, and addictions are not good, especially such morally sensitive ones.

You said you feel guilty about watching porn because it objectifies women. See, there's nothing wrong with seeking sexual pleasure because nature made us that way. Sexual desire is natural along with hunger and thirst. The only thing is we shouldn't overdo it and become greedy.

So some objectification of women, if we call it that, as objectification of men, is naturally warranted. But we should also be compassionate and respectful of the person of others. We shouldn't trample upon others in our greed, besides of course loving the people we do. That's all there's to it as far as I see it.

Porn is definitely not a good thing, and I too have viewed it and felt guilty afterwards. What porn ruins is the idea of an intimate relationship between a man and a woman; it turns people into objects, and ruins any attempt at emotional intimacy between two people. I object to viewing porn in any type of circumstance, and unfortunately, the Internet has made its accessibility very easy. There is nothing wrong with seeking sexual pleasure, but porn is extremely addictive (some studies say it is similar to cocaine in its addictiveness and effects), and is a very dangerous thing to use. Porn is weird. I think it makes sex seem ugly and dirty (I'm not saying getting freaky in an intimate relationship is off limits). I don't know what happened to using imagination, or thinking about being with the object of your affection?

Porn is fake, simple as that, it's mindless, and empty. Some people don't have good imaginations. Some people feel weird thinking about the person they like. Some people believe it would be more respectful to watch porn than to 'insult' (for lack of a better word) the person they like (which is weird imo, I think it's better to think about them, and it's more sincere). Some people just like porn, and want porn-like sex. Some people really just don't have any other form of sexual interaction... It's endless for the reasons why people watch porn.

Maybe you should think more about the reason WHY you watch porn, before feeling guilty about it.

It's only wrong if you think its wrong. How does watching someone have sex make you want to degrade women? Humans are sexual creatures. It's not the viewing of the porn that is dangerous, but more likely the repressed guilt that gets unleashed.
