I tried the secure wipes and they worked; however, I experienced some temporary side effects that scared me. I have excessive sweating on my face (forehead, upper lip, chin, and hairline). I experience these problems with minimal exertion and have never experienced 1 day in my life with a dry face, except when I tried the secure wipes. I tried the 2.5% strength and applied it to my face before bed. The next morning, I noticed that my eyes were very sensitive to light. It felt like my eyes were dialated after a visit to the eye doctor. I am a nurse, and when I assessed my eye's in the mirror, I noticed that my pupils were unequal. My left pupil was larger, which explained the sensitivity to light. After reading up on the medication in oral form, a rare side effect is temporary paralysis of the accomadation mechanism of the optic nerve. This cleared up after a week when I stopped using the medication. My pupils did return to normal. I also experienced a dry mouth, decreased urination, constipation, and slight weight gain. I think because it is an anticholinerginic medication (it dries you out). The oral form is typically used for people with urinary incontinence or excessive salivation (drooling). I did attempt to try it again a few weeks later, and it did the same thing. the side effects when away when the medication was ceased. I will try the lower strength because it does do the job. I just thought I would share my experience.
