glycopyrrolate in UK

Hello all

I had a consultation with an NHS dermatologist recently with a view to getting a prescription for a glycopyrrolate solution for my facial HH. He dismissed the treatment as "rubbish" but couldn't justify his stance (he's never tried it, and doesn't know anyone who has).

A quick google search reveals posts from many users on this forum and others who've had great success with a glycopyrrolate solution (usually in the form of secure pads) and there are posts indicating that NHS derms. have prescribed the stuff so I see no reason why I shouldn't have it too. I'm going to request a second referal with a different derm. from my GP but before I do, I want to build as strong a case as possible.

If you've been prescribed a glycopyrrolate solution by an NHS dermatologist, please post their name and name of their hospital here or PM me the details. I'm trying to compile a thorough list so my GP (and the next derm) knows that this isn't some experimental treatment, and of course I'll post the complete list once I have it.

thanks
laura

Sorry to bring this back up but I was looking to see if glycopyrrolate tablets were available in the UK.
I went to see a dermotologist last year, she was the only dermotologist I have seen that knew about HH. She suggested I try Glycopyrronium bromide solution, which i applied to my face every night. However there was little difference and the amount of trouble it was to find somewhere that would make it up for me made me stop using it. This dermotologist also mentioned there was a tablet, which I am now assuming is the glycopyrrolate tablets, however she left before I could go back.
Does anyone know if I can get these tablets in the UK?

Hi Lisa

As far as I know, the only place you can get glycopyrrolate over here is to order it in online, which is what I had to do. I ordered the oral tablets (Called Robinul in Canada and Avert in the US) and the wipes (called Secure) from pharmacy.ca in Canada. It is a little pricey with postage and import charges, but IMO it's worth it, as Robinul has changed my life and given me my confidence back.

They're reputable and thorough, and my order arrived within a week, which I thought was pretty good.

Hope this helps.
