Good jobs for people with severe SA?

Severe=Being unable to breathe, shaking violently, getting dizzy, blacking out, occasionally drooling, and almost wetting myself around most strangers or adults unless I'm high or when I used to get drunk. I can barely even talk to my family or friends, only my Granny, my boyfriend, and his cousin.

I have accounts with Elance and oDesk, and I'm doing what occasional freelance work I can get. I'm also awaiting approval from WriterAccess. I'm not going to college because of my SA, and I probably wouldn't go anyways, so I can't do anything requiring a degree.

I'm mainly looking for a steady income writing, any LEGIT paid surveys, or pretty much any online work requiring minimal social contact and no secondary education. I'd like to make at least $600 a month. Don't care if it's all from one job. Actually, just one job would get boring as hell.

If all else fails, I'll try working outside of the house. Something with very little socializing (definitely not as a cashier, waitress, fast food worker, or secretary), that will hire high school grads with no job experience, and that preferably don't require a drug test. Maybe something like cleaning or stock.

If you're going to work in a store, you're probably best off in the stock room. If you're looking for an office job, maybe data entry or filing, but make sure to find out before accepting anything what other tasks are involved and how much time you will be working alone. Of course, you have to make it past the interview.

any LEGIT paid surveys,

I've been wondering about these myself. I actually enjoy doing surveys. I do music surveys for a local radio station and I'm on a survey panel for one market research company and I will probably join some more at some point. But I'm skeptical of these online paid surveys. I'm not sure which ones are legitimate and not scams. Also, I wonder about the integrity of the data collected through paid surveys. I did a lot of stats in school and I would only want to support a company doing sound research projects.

Working in a library archive, e.g. processing manuscripts. You can get a job working in a manuscript library even without a library degree, but you would need a college degree of some kind.

Warehouse and factory jobs require little socializing and typically hire people with only a high school education.

How often do you use mary-jane? And does it help with your social anxiety?

Just thought I'd ask, since you said you prefer a job that doesn't take a drug test, I know that there is only *one* popular drug out there that bites you back if you need to get a new job...

On a more genuine note, what kind of things do you write? I'm a decent writer but don't have deep knowledge in any specific area, nor am I a "jack of all trades" or "Mr. Fix-it" person, so that kind of puts me in no-man's land, as far as writing is concerned.

But if I could make some money writing, that would be great, I really need something to get myself going these days. And of course, preferably need a job that's friendly enough for SA. Mine isn't as severe as yours--I have been a cashier before and it wasn't usually that bad. But in one of those jobs, they moved me over (sometimes) to the Returns Desk, which went past my limits because the whole task was simply interacting with people, some of them unhappy customers. Needless to say, I quit after a few weeks of that.

Oh I see, the four letter word rule applies to any word with four letters :D

I can tell you all about good jobs for people with SA. Janitor / housekeeping work doesn't pay very well, but is usually super relaxed work. Depending on where you apply, half of your job could end up being busywork.

Another great one is stock / unloading, pretty much anywhere. I'd suggest a warehouse type place, but that's only if you're willing to lift heavy stuff (it's a great way to bulk up, though).

Another fun one, apply at a fast food place (which you can always do online) and just tell them you're more comfortable with the grill or whatever. Flip burgers in the back all day, that's pretty safe.

Being a waiter / waitress sounds horrible, so you could always be a busgirl / busboy. Or, the obvious, dishwasher.

Those are my suggestions. I hope you find a good job somewhere decent with a relaxed boss.

i guess this site is so popular that the string of four letters in question was getting us too many hits on porn searches

unfortunately, the owner of the site's first language does not appear to be english

so perhaps he doesn't understand how ridiculous the filter is

Once or twice every one or two months. It helps A LOT. Like, it turns me into a social butterfly. Unfortunately, I can't go to work or an interview high as a kite. My mom said that if I have to take a drug test, we can use my Granny's pee (she's the only one in the family that doesn't smoke weed), but I'd prefer not to resort to that.

Man, I think the coding in this site is a little messed up....It didn't even show this post or any of the ones after it at first. o_O

I write almost anything as long as it isn't TOO technical. By too technical, I mean anything with too many numbers. xD Currently, I occasionally write 200-word product descriptions, but they only pay a dollar each. I also do 10-30 minute user tests for websites. They pay $10 each, but the tests you can take are based on demographics, and apparently a poor childless 18 year old girl isn't the most commonly targeted group.

I'd also do logo design and illustration if I could get it. People have offered me work, but then they change their mind when they find out I don't use Adobe. Can't afford it. Kinda makes me sad that so many traditional mediums are being purged from the graphic design world. Back when my uncle was a graphic designer, they didn't have computers to get the perfect color or shape. Everything had to be done my hand and it was good.

I'd eventually like to get one of my stories published. :p I write a lot of science fantasy, high fantasy, and horror.

Fast food would still be too many people. xD Besides, I'd probably spend all my day puking. I'd be fine with a warehouse, but there aren't any around here except for at the steel mill, and they're sexist as hell when it comes to hiring women.

I couldn't afford Adobe products either, except the free ones like Adobe Reader. Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard for graphic design, but it's also very pricy unfortunately. I use the free open source version Gimp. It sucks that the graphic design industry is moving backwards, because requiring everyone to use a single software is the opposite of creativity.
