Just yesterday I was walking out of this shop, stood still to check my phone and there were two girls about 17/18 who walked past me and I overheard one say "ewwww". I wasn't even oggling them. Whilst they were walking ahead of me, one of them turned around looked at me and then said something to her friend (the one that said ewww). Suddenly both of them kept turning their heads and laughing before walking really fast, as though to get away from me. They crossed over the road and I eventually went ahead on the ottherside. They then noticed the bald spot on the back of my head and I heard one of them say really loudly "OMG he's got a bald spot too..ewww". I then stopped turned around, stared them right into the eye across the street and said "What!". They said "omg psycho" and started to run.

Things like this have happened at least well over 100 times in my life. I'm 36 and its been happening since I was 13 or so. I don't know how to deal with it. I've never had this treatment in other countries.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with young British women. Why do girls do this? Can girls answer? Literally no concern for others feelings and just spout shit in your face, like they have license to.

Oh and I meant "deal" in the title.

I try not to take it personally, which is TOUGH when you're avoidant, but a55holess are always going to be a55holess.

I've had the same checkout girl give me the "big eyes" when I weighed 270 pounds and then turn-around and actually ask me out 6 months later when I was back in shape. She was hot, but that's all she was, and I didn't forget the way she made me feel.

The moral of the story is this - you really don't want anything to do with those types of people anyway, so try not to sweat it. I know it kills, but they're really just being childish little turds.

I hate it when somebody says I'm "sturdy lookin" or "heavy duty" i used to get that quite a bit. I'm like you in carrying it good i think.

I like being big, but I seriously need to get back in shape. 205 is the magic number for me... I'm very stocky, ha ha.

I'd like to see 190 again but at my height i'd look kinda silly. There's nothing wrong with being stocky and what I've noticed is the dudes like our sizes are usually decently strong. A grown man built like a preteen boy probably ain't too stout.

I got down to 193 a few years ago and I looked weird, that BMI chart is for the birds. I was trying to get down to 170 something, but there was no way, I would've looked downright sickly.

I played nose-tackle and fullback in high school (*cough* all-conference *cough*) so I've always been strong, my sophomore through senior years I benched more than anyone else on the team. People think being big or strong or looking tough solves a lot of problems, and for some people I suppose it does, but it's like anything else, there's plenty of stereotypes and discrimination that go along with it. I guess if you're sensitive it doesn't matter what you look like, or what you've got going for you, rudeness and careless comments are always going to tangle you up and make you doubt yourself.

You want to know how I got these scars?
I've had this happen to me a few times, especially in my younger teens.
It was really hurtful.
But...I learned 'what does their opinion matter?'
Those girls are obviously shallow, self obsessed and of low intelligence.

If it happens again, ask them 'So when are you appearing on the cover of Vogue next? Oh, I guess they 'misplaced' your photo..'

It's all those girls with rifles for minds
but their jokes don't make me laugh
they only make me feeling like dying
in an unguarded moment.

I will say not only girls do this, boys do this too, and women and men.

I've experienced some rude looks and comments too, by girls, boys, women, and men. Pretty bad acne was the bane of my being for a while some years back. And I come from a totally different culture than yours. So I wouldn't really say that British girls are more rude than others. Immature and rude people are everywhere. They need to humiliate others to feel superior and good about themselves. They're really pathetic if you ask me.

There are advantages to being invisible, not ugly, not attractive. An in between where people don't notice.

I remember a girl said, "Eww" once. It was during high school. My idiot friend started saying stuff that I liked her, which wasn't true, he was just joking around. I've also been called weirdo, just for being quiet. Anyways Hellhound is right, they're just immature teens. Girls that age usually havethe biggest ego. Those girls probably just like to make fun of people just to feel good about themselves.

It makes me really angry this happened to you. I've also experienced it and it made me feel terrible. These people get a kick out of making others feel bad. They're backward sorry excuses for people and should be ignored.

Here's a trick I learned when people try to go out of their way to put you down: Completely and totally ignore them because all they are craving is attention. This can actually be fun. You had a phone with you. I would have pretended to be so into reading something on my phone, that I didn't even know they existed. Of course this would have made them try harder to make you aware of how "grossed out" they were of you but, you know what? That puts you in the drivers seat. At this point you are controlling their actions instead of the other way around. At the end you could have looked up, pretended to notice them for the first time, gave them an annoyed/disgusted look and walked away. You could have totally turned the tables on them. If there's one thing those types don't like, it's being made to feel exactly how they are trying to make someone else feel.

The last time someone called me ugly was back in the 6th grade. At the time my parents were getting divorced and I was frequently feeling stressed over money issues I had no control over among other things. Needless to say, it was the last thing I wanted to hear. To this day it sticks with me.
