Hair color and getting too much attention

I cannot express how happy I am to have my blonde hair coming back in. I was amazed at all the unwanted attention being a redhead-well, a bright-haired in the "red orange family", would cause me.

I hated every second of it and I am so glad to be coming back to my natural blonde hair color finally!! I used henna and it won't wash out so anyways...moral of the story... if you're shy and hate attention do not color your hair a bright color:kickingmyself:

Anyone ever do something to their appearance they regret for the attention it caused? Everyday at my old job someone would ask me about my hair it was awful!

I used to have almost 50 piercings... before I was even in grade 9. haha
That gained me alot of attention.
Most of it was negative.

I thought I was going to get lots of attention when I started wearing reading glasses at work and felt terribly self-conscious for it, but the reality was that no one noticed or gave a f###

I dyed my hair purple last year and left it that way for months. It did cause attention, but it was all good attention and I didn't mind it.

Wow Weirdy! That's a ton of piercings! I had my ears pierced but the holes have closed up since I never wear jewelry enough anymore.

I hope you have healed-up.

I cannot stand people commenting on my looks. It was so bad even the eye doctor was saying "Is that your real hair color?" Like it looked real?! I like to blend in. That was not cool.

Time to try hair color. I tell you it is the attention-getter if that's what you're after. Not one day went by the entire summer someone didn't say something about my hair, mostly it was all really nice, all of it really, but it was weird and awkward as heck!

Plus no more dumb blonde excuses :giggle:

I don't know I am really shy and don't like that-strangers coming up and saying things about my looks- was way weird to me.

It is good if you like it though! Purple is very cool.

All of the 90s!!! For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to buy 3" platform Sketchers... I'm already tall. Very... Not just that but I wore them with a hot pink snakeskin halter-top and the matching stretch pants. I looked like a Stay-Puft Marshmallow Spice Girl swallowed by a psychedelic python.

I can't even. :eek:mg:

Your hair, I'm sure it wasn't as bad as you imagined. How long did you have it like that?

Pics! Pics!! Pics!!! :D

I get comments about my beard sometimes. It's not like I did anything special to it. I just stopped shaving one day and let it do its thing. It's really nothing more than a 951 day growth of stubble. People seem to like it, though. The compliments can be nice, I'll admit, but they also demonstrate that I'm not nearly as invisible or anonymous as I'd like to be. Too much attention, especially from strangers, makes me very uncomfortable. Yuck.

My entire life I dreamedof having a perfect smile. I didn't have braces as a kid so I was always self conscience of my teeth. Last year I finally had the money (trust me, I could have paid for a brand new car for the price of the dental work) so I took the plunge. My dentist is the kindest most caring man on planet (his office calls the day after every appointments -even cleanings-to check on you). But it was horrible, painful, I got severely sick and it took over 17 hours to get laminates on just the top row of teeth. Needless to say-i am weirded out now. I have yet to smile in a mirror or picture. When I brush & floss I only look at my teeth not my whole face. So i dont know how they look. Even more irony is that since a few years ago I had developed anxiety and I have a fear of seeing people I know, i don't go out & nobody even sees me or my teeth. I never told my sister I was having it done and she has yet to notice!
It isn't a major regret but I think I could have lived fine without doing it.

LoVe13-Me too. I have always had that dream. I want porcelain veneers. I cannot believe how long it took to get one set of laminates! You mean you were in the chair for 17 hrs straight?!

hairs hairs hairs

I don't really mind the attention I get from my hair color, it is mostly positive. It actually gives me some comfort as why people are staring at me now. They're probably looking at my hair because that is most likely going to be the first thing they notice about me now. People stare at me either way, with or without crazy hair colors, it's always uncomfortable. I really need to fix my hair now though, it's super faded and horrible looking. I want to be able to look how I want without worrying about people caring so much, but it's extremely difficult.

I am not a fan of the wrong type of attention.

I remember telling one of my naive nieces that I am glad I do not have big, perky, Dead-Or-Alive breasts(or melons) and a big, jiggly derriere.

She was like, "Girl, you crazy!"

And I was thinking, "Well, you would be begging to become a man's prey then if you ever got breast and *** implants....."

I mean that may not be true.......or is it?

Absolutely-large breasts are not something that goes un noticed by men or women. Total attention-getters (I was blessed/cursed with them since I was 15). I used to want a reduction, but no way go under the knife for something that I now see the value and beauty in. It took a long time to get to where I feel okay with them. They might honesty be the basis of my over self-conscious issues for most of my life. I love them now though!
