Has Anyone Tried St. John's Wort?

For stress-induced anxiety and social phobia? Has it - at all - helped you? I have heard that it's helped a number of people. I'm looking forward to getting some, I just don't know whether I should simply buy it at a local CVS/ Walgreens or from the internet.

Hey there creznor

I have tried St. John's Wort a couple of times... sometimes I think it worked but then I think maybe it was just like a placebo... :? I guess it is different for everyone so I say give it ago...

So sorry I couldn't give you a one way or the other answer...Hopefully someone can :D

I tried it on a couple of occasions and it didn't do anything for me either, but that doesn't mean that it won't work for you.

It does work (it makes everything not bother you as much) but it takes at least 2 weeks to work, sometimes six

If you're going to use it don't buy the popular "perika" cause it makes anxiety worse. I recommend "Kira", it's the most recommended for people with anxiety

Good luck!

Hey AngelsTears85

Remember, you have to use it for at least 6 weeks. If no improvement occurs after 6-8 weeks, then you know it doesn't work for you. I would try it again, if I were you. I'm going to use it as well.

I tried it, and it did nothing for me. I would try an actual social phobia medication like paxil or zoloft instead.

My experience of zoloft is that side effects kick in striaght away, including loss of sexual libido, loss of appetite for food and dry mouth. The medical effects take a month or more and were only slightly beneficial. I'm off it now. Didn't like it at all. The appetite returned and the dry mouth settled down but the loss of libido remain lost. You could call zoloft a chemical castratent.

I was being treated for anxiety and depression which has effected me probably all my life without me knowing about it. I always knew I was a shy and nervous guy and then suddenly I hit 51 and realised I was still a virgin.
