Anxiety free! :D the cure has been found. Have you ever stayed up a couple nights? It's fun, unless something bad happend like a breakup or something and you can't sleep. I feel like I could stand up for myself if I needed to. Awesome. When I finally sleep again i'll go back to my normal self. Well the main "normal self" of being nervous and so on. It's like being on a silly sugar high so it's not something that can be done a lot ::eek::. Anyway share your stories of staying up whether negative or positive.

haha, the longest I've ever been up was 103 hours, which is 4.5ish days. i was backpacking with nowhere to sleep, so i just stayed up. it was interesting, after 60 or so hours, you don't even feel tired, you get into a weird trance and your mind begins to seem clear, but i think its just stopped working lol. but whatever, i like the feeling of staying up long and then just crashing, its great haha

I usually do that when I don't want the next day to come. So for me the effect is the contrary, well, I don't feel more anxious really, but my mind is racing up quickly. Like tonight, I'm avoiding going to bed because tomorrow I have to go to the university to register the classes for the new semester. I don't want to go because I'll be surrounded by a bunch of people but eventually, tomorrow will come and there's nothing I can do about it. :-/

103 hours! Mate, that is a crazy amount of time. I don't know how you did that, backpacking or not.

I think the longest I've stayed awake was about 38 or so hours, and I was half-dead by that point. I could never do two days like HermitCrab or this 103 hours like you! I guess I'm not tough.

I've always found that the less sleep I get, the more wobbly and anxious I am.

Me too. I get more vulnerable of negative feelings. So I´d rather not stay up 2 days. 1 night is okay, if I can sleep till the noon.

The backpacking thing with crashing seems nice though. I know that I would be less stressed if I go backpacking somewhere, because I´m on holiday and I know I don´t have anything next day, just relax! Then I can stay up maybe 130 hours too hahah, I wouldn´t mind then cuz it´s fun!

Especially when it's in the mountains, a forest or nearby the beach.. Then I wouldn't mind because It's quiet and peaceful. I wouldn't wanna miss a second so i would stay up all night watching the stars and sitting at the beach or hearing the forest rain.. :)

If I´d have to go college next day, I will be freaking out because I don´t want to be tired and less concentrated and MORE anxious at school, that´s why I go to bed around 9:30 PM - 10:00 PM in the mid weeks....

Yeah, I think that's why I like camping so much :)

I think you're experiencing a bit of madness, haha. When I pull an all nighter, I turn a little crazy too, go on a coffee binge and have nervous energy. But it's not healthy. I always find I crash later in the day and so does my mood. It's not good to be around people in that state. We need to sleep and dream to process our thoughts.

My problem is that I am nocturnal and when I have a normal sleeping rythm I turn incredibly unhappy and fatigued because of some delayed sleeping syndrome and my mind being in a higher state of operating at night. It seems when I stay up late and get out of bed late I feel better, normal and calm. Still, I wish I would just be able to rise freshly at 7 am with a good mood, full of energy, to take on the day.

Wow . I guess no tent with you? I can relate to the trance your talking about i think? I still think you stayed up longer than me though. I stayed up later than 2 nights also just once but it was fun lol. I was in las vegas, and couldn't sleep much because i was with relatives sharing a room. I'm used to sleeping alone and could hear them snore so no sleep. So fell asleep on a water fountain and then went to dinner and got 3 cups of orange juice at a bar afterwards. That's all i remember.. it was weird....

Yes might have been a bit mad :p I'm nocturnal also. I sometimes set my alarm for early and click it off until it turns noon. When it's overally bright out i feel like it's not the right time to come out :D I tried the habit thing and it just never sticks. Also were at a less risk of skin cancer so good for us.

Got 120hours without sleeping, 5days....full of energy like had sleep for 1year....meds told me never saw it, well at least she didn't...welcome to bipolar world!

hm i would be the opposite. when I don't sleep enough or the quality of my sleep is lousy, i'm in the lousy mood i find myself in often.

When I don't sleep I have way too much anxiety. That's why I can't sleep without my medication.

There's such a difference between me at night and me in the day. In the day I'm a dull, unimaginative, procrastinating lazy bastard but at night my brain turns on and I turn into this (self-proclaimed) whimsical, creative, funny, energetic whirlwind. I "live" at night. Wish I could turn it around, because those bloody day-dwellers are really missing out on me.
