I'm new here and in a bad spot and I need advice

I'm new here and in a bad spot and I need advice. A few weeks ago, I finally managed to gather up the courage to ask the boy I like to prom. He said yes. Today he told me (in the nicest way possible) that he couldn't attend because he thought prom was in two weeks, not two days, and asked if we could still be friends. (He had bought a ticket yesterday, I'm not sure if it had the date on it as the school did not exactly make the date very clear.) I am not sure if he knows I like him or if he does, if he is uncomfortable with this. What should I do? My school has less than 100 kids and I do not want to show my face in school. I won;t know how to talk to him after this.

Well, he wasn't a **** about it, so that's a good start.
Perhaps you could take a rain check on the prom, so to speak. Ask him if he still wants to do something with you in the summer. Something low-pressure, like grabbing a coffee. It would be easier to gauge his reaction from there.

I totally agree. This seems like a reasonable idea. It seems like he was cool about it. Don't let this hurt you too bad or anything. It'll all work out.

Yeah. Just dont overthink anything. the more you keep questioning his actions, the more paranoid youll get. and thats when your imagination screws you over. you just keep thinking of the worst possible situations, and outcomes. just take his word and roll with it. But it would be weird if you went to prom alone and saw him there with someone else... I WANT AN UPDATE ON THIS!!!! I WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS! Give an update later please..
