How are you feeling?

Guilty for indulging in my own hobbies when I have a lot of free time, while the rest of the family is either working/studying/job hunting. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually want the uni semester to start up again so I can feel like I'm doing something constructive.

Try to enjoy yourself anyway, because we only have limited time on the planet and guilt over having fun- when you could be having a good time, is a wasted opportunity.

You're not a parasite bum without a plan - as long as you've got a job/education/live improvement plan in place (that you actually follow,) allow yourself to have fun in the meanwhile.

One problem area in my life ends, and another one begins. It's like one big wheel of pain, and the wheel spins and lands on the latest worry. Worry free is like the jackpot prize that goes off once in a blue moon.

I want to work harder at doing the things I need to do to find some peace.

With all the technology and resources we have in 2015 we should all have plenty of free time to follow our passions but the majority of people I know spend at least 80 percent of their lives chasing a dollar so they can eek out some kind of middle class lifestyle.

It makes me very sad it has to be this way but this is how the people in power like it.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't work but rather that a person should be able to live a reasonable lifestyle on 15-20 hours of work a week.

Also people should not have to gamble time and debt getting a fancy degree just to have a shot at getting a reasonable career(fancy word for job). Education should be first and foremost about self improvement and not tied to employment.

So there's my rant...lol

But do try to enjoy yourself because you only live once and retirement may never come.

Are you saying that should be an option, or that anyone can live that way right now if they wanted? Because I work double that, and a cheap apartment and a car seem out of the question to me. I mean, 15 hours a month would be $550 a month, at my pay rate which is a little above minimum wage, which I can't imagine living off of. I have student loan payments, so I really only get 15 hours of my pay a month really, and I can tell you living independently on such an income is not realistic. Having a lot of money isn't important to me, and I'd much rather have free time than work all the time, but I'm looking into a second job just to be able to afford monthly payments on a cheap car.

I'm saying that we all should be able to live like that in an ideal world.

A minimum wage job should support a person, or even a family comfortably.

But those in power have allowed inflation to rape the average person so badly that everyone has to work extra hard just to eat and have some shred of a middle class existence.

I mean four bags of groceries should not cost $60 in a land where there are no real shortages.

Cars should be cheap also. There is no car shortage. But even when supply is greater than demand the price does not come down in any real way.
Maybe they will do some gimmick like 0 percent financing but who cares? What people really need a a reliable new car for, say, $5000.

Back hurts. Want to chill in the tub. Feeling calm and relaxed despite the tension- have some things I need to get around to doing before work tomorrow so that I don't end up having to do a ton the day afterwards like last Sunday

I've pretty much been feeling this same way. I suppose I usually do but lately it's worse than ever.

I've decided to get back in shape, so right now I'm starving.

The first two or three days of a new regimen is always rough, but it'll be worth it. Two-hundred and seventy-five pounds at my height is ridiculous, I'm not that big-boned, and goatees and black shirts can only conceal so much. :D

A nice car for $5000 sounds amazing, it would be great if that was the world. I sure wish your world was reality, a lot of people would have more time to enjoy things. But people still manage to find happiness through it all, so I'm hopeful still

Good luck with it, FountainandFairfax. Eat well and healthy is the way to go, you shouldn't have to starve.

Pretty good. Amazing that I can contemplate checking out and still feel so blessed in one day. Guess that means there is hope yet. It's nice to have emotional flexibility.

Feeling so fu*ked up... My life has taken a surprisingly good turn. Yet I feel like I don't deserve it. What the hell is wrong with me? So tired of fighting this war with my own mind..
