How did everyone cope with there new years parties?

My parents usually throw a party with family friends. Every year its the same thing, I hide in my room playing video games all night waiting for the countdown. After the countdown I go back to my room and continue what I was doing.

It was a little better this year though. I had a good college friend over to celebrate with me so me and him both gamed for the night and watched horror movies, so it wasn't too bad this year.

I stuffed my tummy with as much ice-cream as I could possibly fit in it. Alone. :eek:mg:

The last New Years party I went to was in 1984 at a school friends house. It was good apart from her cousin saying to my face "I don't like you". I Never could figure out what I did to make her say that.

I love ice cream!!! But, I'm lactose intolerant :crying:. I'll tell you why she said that to you, cause she was a total loser!

I was working till after midnight so I missed new years eve but when I got home at 1am. my flatmates were having a party so I joined in. Had 2 bottles of champagne to myself to forget the social stress of it all and the rest is a blurred distant memory. Good times :)

It went alright. I went to a party with some friends and got really drunk. A girl I am fond of showed up late at night and by then I was unfortunately too drunk to do much else than give her awkward glances. Still it was pretty fun.

haha that happens to me all the time. I drink for confidence to approach women but the window of drunkness to be charming and confident is so small I have never mastered the art and before I know it im too drunk to do or say anything other than sit like an idiot with a big grin on my face! Not really a turn on for most women!

you are lucky alcohol still works for you..to me it just makes me a groggy, lethargic mess..it used to make me social and outgoing when i was younger but i dont know what happened tbh..

I played games at home, pretty much forgot about it being NYE except for watching the disappointing Sydney fireworks.

i was invited to a party. It was a bit far and across town so didnt go. So, I went to a quiet bar out in the country where I live until everyone left leaving me all alone at the bar except for the bartenders. It wasn't even close to midnight yet. So, I drank down my last beer went home. From there drank more beer and watched TV

Haha it doesn't really after a certain level of drunkness. Its largely unpredictable when that limit is reached and I hit that switch maybe its an age thing when I was younger it was the best thing ever! (apart from making me nearly completely alcohol dependent) I was full of energy and confidence. Now if I have more than 2 pints or whatever it is my brain seems to melt, Im not necessarily unhappy sometimes im quite happy but Im usually sitting in a corner not saying much and feeling really tired and wanting to sleep.
Also my hangovers which used to be non existent now sometimes take 2 days to get over!

I went to a block party. Wasn't invited persay but it was a block party so I am not sure anyone was "invited". When I found out I was going to it, I wanted to run the other way. I didnt want to go out to a block party. I ended up dressing up and having a good time. One of my bf's friends gf was sitting alone by herself a lot and said "she didnt feel good" but i felt like i saw a lot of me in her. All alone and just not waiting to be there. I went and talked to her a few times. I know I always enjoy when someone comes and talks to me when I am not having a good time. I ended up having a pretty good night out.

Not invited anywhere either. I did try to wish a few people over the phone, some don't even bother to response. So rude.

I didn't do anything on New Year's. I ended up going to bed early cause it depressed me with the fact that everyone else was having a great time but me.
