Just wanted to see a tally of the drinkers here and their habits.

I'm of the drink alone all the time when I get my hands on it variety.

In fact, I'm drunk and alone right now! How about you!

I don't drink too often. Used to drink only maybe half a dozen times in a year. Now a bit more, but usually only in a social setting a la pub or bar with friends. Though I did go trifling through the liquor cabinet once during a particularly depressing time. But usually it's only in social situations to take the edge off anxiety. I don't handle my liquor too well nor am I too fond of the taste, I must admit. ::eek::

I do whenever I can. I don't even "just have a drink or two" I get drunk lol. I'm tipsy, and all by myself, right now :/ my mom says it's a bad habit to get into but I see no difference between getting drunk with other people and getting drunk alone.

Yeah I realized afterward, the reason why some don't drink may not share the opinion that it's bad for you.
Oh well, can't change it now.
But still. It makes everyone feel ill and dehydrated after the fact. That's no reason to not drink.

Plenty of life left ahead of me, no need to become an alcoholic yet.

Anyone recommend any nice mixes?

Disoronno and coke is my favourite at the moment :D

Not often but when I do drink I am always alone. I do it to reward myself for something, whatever it may be. I certainly feel more at ease after a drink and if I talked to someone else drunk I think I would perform better socially lol

I drink alone every day, usually take at least 3 drinks a night, but that doesnt really makes me drunk, im just "in a mood"...
Sometimes i take a drink in early afternoon even, im kinda keeping my alcohol level during the day, but i dont do that every day...
I drink neat whiskey or bourbon, Jim Beam mostly... I usually do like 2 bottles a week...

I used to never do it, until I ended up living alone during part of graduate school. I once finished my exams and picked up a 12 pack of cheap beer. I proceeded to drink 90% of them throughout the night, and ended up drunk dialing people I knew(before I knew what drunk dialing was). Nowadays, i've realized that's part of what bars are for: to give people who drink by themselves a place to feel like they're actually with people. ;) Sometimes, I'll get drunk at home by myself. But more often, I'll have a couple before or after going out to the bar. My friends were worried I was spending too much time at the bar lately. I said, "Hey, the alternative was when I was drinking all by myself at home. At least this way, I'm socializing, talking to people, and limiting how much I drink based on bar prices."

When I lived on my own, a few times a month I liked to have a glass or two of wine after dinner with friends and chat until it was impossibly late. One of the things that I can't do where I live now that I kind of miss.

i wish i had the money to drink. uk say poor'ish people like me are to blame, drink would help out.

I don't drink, never even tried it. There is also that thought that if you get drunk you may let your inhibitions go in public, that would probably traumatize me.

I drink a lot mostly socially. Sometimes I don't even drink a lot then. I don't like to sit home alone and get wasted. It's fun to have a nice buzz, but it's not fun stumbling around on one's own.
