Hello all! I am new here and i am looking for some advice. My beautiful wife has been diagnosed Bipolar and Agoraphobic. The had her on something called terazidone. Took her of of that and put her on 60mg of Geadon. Her panic attacks have gotten incerasingly worse. Today i got a call from my oldest son who came home to find mom out cold on the floor. By the time i got home she was awake and hyproventalating really really bad. These attacks are getting worse and worse, She says that she does not want to be left alone. So my question is can a spouse get paid for taking care of his wife who deffinatly can not go outside at all and can not be left alone for fear of passing out again. Sorry got to go she is having another episode. Crying and trembling short breaths. Any advice would be wonderful. Or even if you could point me in the right direction so i can see about getting paid for taking care of my wife.
Thank you in advance
Mark

Dont live in UK.....

Sorry Yetisbabe but i live in Florida. I tried to find the DLA but everything for that is in the UK. Know of any agency in the US?

Her attack a little awhile ago was a mild one. Finally got her calmed down. Her attacks are not happening like they use too. Only when we left the house. NOW they are all the time sometimes 3 to 5 times a day. Usally noone is home. My being the man i am i do not want to leave her alone. At this point can i really do that? She has applied for disability with soical security but that is still going on. I was just wondering if i could get caregiver pay for taking care of her. SHE DOES NOT WANT ME TO LEAVE HER ALONE AT ALL. So i thought maybe i would see what i could find out.

Thank you agian

Help for Agoraphobia....i have finally found something.

Hi I am sorry to hear about your wife. Anybody out there with Agoraphobia, I am 46 yrs old and have struggle with Agoraphobia for over 25 years. I have tried many things, but last June, I went to a Naturopath and this guy is definitely on the right path. He as me taking 750 mg of Gaba before bed each night and 1 Tablespoon of the 3,6,9 Oils (anytime of day is fine) and I am on P5P plus (a form of B6 & magnesium). Before I started taking it I was doing very bad, with panic attacks pretty well every day. I have been on the Gaba mixture and Have not had a panic attack in over 5 months. I feel so much better. I am starting to feel more normal. I am not cured yet but am so much more calm and able to drive to work everyday with absolutely no anxiety, whereas I used to always have a pattern of thinking that would put me into a panic the farther I got from home. I SWEAR THIS GABA IS WORKING. Anyone with this problem should go to a Naturopath doctor that has treated people with Agoraphobia. He told me us Agoraphobics are very low in Gaba (one of the many chemicals in the brain). I had been low for so many years it may take time but he said I will be completly free of the panic and anxiety. There is no time frame set but he said I will know when I can stop taking it. Gaba will not work by itself, you need the oils to allow the gaba to enter the brain, so that is very important. Please get your wife this help as I can't begin to tell you how much better I am feeling and believe me I have suffered terribly for so so long. I believe that within another 6 months I will be free of it like the doctor said. Good Luck.
