Hello everyone!
Hyperhidrosis affects many of my family members and I think that it is a condintion that people are ignorant about. There is such little understanding and help on offer and such a stigma attatched that I want to do something.
I am a final year student doing journalism at uni and we have to make a 15 minute documentary as part of our final year project and I am doing mine on hyperdidrosis, to promote understanding and awareness and open peoples eyes, I am not looking for sympathy for sufferers, but for acceptance and understanding.
Anyway in order for filming this to be successful I need to find some people willing to talk on camera, I can disguise them, let them remain anonymous, have them shadowed out. But I would like to spend some time with someone and film their story.
I have an interview with a consultant dermatologist, a specialist nurse from hh uk, a guy whose had ets and I am looking to interview a few more people, talk about how it affects them and what they go through, what treatments they have had et
I thought initially that finding someone to do this was going to be a challenge and although I have had some people show interest I am keen to talk to other people. Ideally they would be in the mid - south of the UK -I can travel to meet them, and as a student I can't offer money, the thing that would be in it for them would be to help promote awareness and understanding.
I would be so grateful if anyone could help me, advise me of people to speak to, profesionals or sufferers.
I need to have completed my filming by around the 12th November so I have quite a tight deadline. I would very much like to hear back from any one with their stories.
Many thanks,
Joanna
