I don't feel safe

lol there are lots of spiders here, I keep my room clean but every once in a while I have one landing on my arm from a web on the ceiling... They don't even make nests and cobwebs around the corners before going around exploring, it's so annoying.

Anyway, I think it's important for dannyboy to understand that it's not normal or healthy to have panic attacks because of politics, and he shouldn't just accept that as part of his life. Even if there is reason to be concerned, which honestly there is not in his case, he is as safe as anyone can get living in Canada.

I live in one of the most violent countries in the world, the number of murders and violent crimes here always outnumber the ones from countries with wars going on like Iraq and Syria, and even for me it would make no sense to have panic attacks over it. I mean, our police is inefective, our justice system is a joke and it's illegal to have guns for defending your life, which means what's keeping me alive is the mercy of the thugs, or rather the fact that I don't have much to give them anyway so I'm not worth the trouble, but even so, having panic attacks would only make my life worse.

Louco not all of us have leveled our stats high enough yet to live in a post apocalyptic wasteland :p

The fact that the world is messed up shouldn't give you panic attacks... have you ever thought about seeing a therapist to talk about this?

I think anxiety around a fear of world affairs is not unusual at all. I suggest it shows some empathy towards the future of the world we live in, and goes well beyond politics.

Well anyways, I might be wrong since Im not really big into world affairs/politics, but Im thinking most of our issues will stay contained here. I couldnt see anything insane happening that would involve our neighbors, like a World War. Yeah theres always the terrorist, but I think most countries are afraid to kick off something major because our weapons and current tech is too destructive now. No one wants to get blown up so we all tolerate each other. However for Americans, we might have to deal with a lot of social issues that we were trying to get sorted out here. However there IS the issue of climate change that affects all of us and we're all kinda dropping the ball on that crap. Id like for us to at least figure out how to leave this planet before we turn it into a larger version of Venus.

Climate change is also a big anxiety of mine. I do my part to help the world at least but I wish everyone would try and help.

What he feels is not a normal anxiety over world affairs, he's having panic attacks because he thinks he's in danger by living too close to the US. :|

People like us, who have anxiety issues, should always try to keep our minds clear and calm. I know sometimes we can't help but obsess over negative thoughts and emotions, but we don't have to give up and suffer like this. We can take back control and think, does it make sense to feel like this? Am I actually in danger? Shouldn't I focus on the objective reality that I'm not in danger and that it's highly unlikely that something bad is going to happen to me?

I know it's not easy, from experience actually... to teach your mind to work in different ways, especially to deal with this kind of thing, it can feel like it's harder than making a physical struggle beyond your strength. But it's possible, our minds can be as healthy as we make them. We don't have to be tortured by these irrational thoughts and feelings, It's NOT normal.
