So I was in gym class and we were playing 4vs4 basketball. I got picked by three really good players. During the first game they wouldn't pass me the ball. (probably cause I'm ugly)We beat the other team easy so before the next game I got somebody from the next team up to switch with me.

I don't play basketball im 5'6 154 so I can't shoot as well as them but I'm plenty athletic. Im fast enough to get by people and score layups and floaters. So we beat the good team and I scored mist of the points.

The next two games we destroyed the other teams. Then we had to play the original team I was on.I started scoring again but this one boy started playing defense on me and was rough so I started passing. He started talking trash too but tbh I was acting like the most badass in the gym.

Then called me s****** when he scored one point on me. My teammates backed me up. It was the longest game it lasted ten mintues until the bell rang. I was about to jump and get the rebound but then he pushed me. My team called push-off. He said I was ***** and had been pushing him. (a lie) He got mad and quit so everybody did. But the bell was about to ring anyway.

I am convinced the world hates me.

This is why I hate team sports. No I loathe it. It caused me a great deal of anxiety in school. Those dudes are just being bullies so they can feel like hard men at the end of the day. If it wasnt you it'd be some other quiet person trust me. Do you see them acting like that to dudes bigger than them? I'd be surprised if so.

"My teammates backed me up." Do you mean that they stuck by you when that loser called you s******?

"My team called push-off." I'm sports ignorant, what's this mean?

I was going to say something encouraging, but then I realized I may not have understood you. lol

Might be a back handed compliment. You were outplaying these other guys, and they probably saw that as a threat, so they were trying to sledge you.

Yes they did they told him not to be talking that way.

A push-off means push foul.

The way I see it, he might have been doing what Kiwong said and called you a shithead because he saw that you were playing pretty well and was trying to get you off your game. At the same time, your team defended you, so that's pretty cool too.

Don't forget that bullies will target people who make themselves targets by appearing weak, or cowardly, or as people who'll take any kind of abuse.

One way I'd suggest for you not to let that experience be tainted in any way is to just see it as something that happens in pretty much any sport. Go watch a soccer match or some american football and you'll see players talking shit to one another constantly.

I don't think the world hates you. I'm pretty sure he was pissed that you were scoring all the points. Don't take those rude comments to heart. He was just being an ***.

This is classic behavior from narrow-minded idiots. Takes me back to high school where I had to endure bullshit from manipulative bitches and "diva-stars" who thought they were in the Olympics instead of just a simple game of volleyball. Of course, me being the weak target they would dump all their hatred on me because I refused to participate in their ridiculous charade. So, I decided to punish them one day by playing really badly and letting the other team win. I couldn't care less about gym class or team sports. They got really mad at me but, I enjoyed watching them lose. Ha ha!

when guys get mad, flustered and start shouting insults, it's because they're afraid of losing and looking bad. this is when you have to focus and ignore it, so you can take advantage of their fear and beat them by even more points. when they go home and take a shower, they'll see how their own anger worked against them and they'll feel even worse.

it's like a double win for you. you just have to stay focused and take advantage of their lack of focus.
