I Just deactivated my facebook account because I'm tired of status updates that aren't specific and make you wonder. I asked my the facebook friend what the dramatic update meant and it took her 3 hours to reply. The update sounded dramatic as crap and it turned out to be dumb! I also don't like when someone says "I need to tell you... something" and waits to say it! Why are ppl trying to torture me? Any tips?? X.z

yeah people are a pain in the a$s alot of the time...i'd like to be able to just relax enough in social settings to joke around and be jovial and whatnot but most people really just put me on edge.....most people seem so affected..or maybe im just not affected ENOUGH but idk..The internet really isnt much of a substitute for socializing though -_-

I don't really understand why people have to delete their facebook account instead of taking a step back and realizing that half the stuff people post there are a way to show off, draw attention or feel like they exist, so of course the most desperate ones are going to post dramatic and/or enigmatic statements. "I can't believe this just happened to me!" You're not obliged to pay attention to this. Facebook is a tool, you use it for what you need, everything else you find in there should be taken as random noise. This is pretty much what it is.

Usually when that kind of stuff really gets to you it basically means you're bitter (with things in general). Maybe a different approach would be to respond to those posts sarcastically. For instance, if someone posts a status update saying "I can't believe this!", just say "I know, the world is a crazy place, I couldn't believe it either!".

I don't take it seriously. I also don't let other people know about my facebook except for family members.

A total of 17 friends and then mainly updates from things I enjoy.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I kept my facebook on but I just won't log in as much. I'm so thankful that we can talk to each other here because I feel like the best advice is here because since we can relate to each other

I am coming to the realisation that I need to step back from people who don't make me feel good about myself, as that is the last thing I need right now. I get frustrated with FB too. I am often messaging so called 'friends', can see they've viewed my messages yet fail to reply. Really annoys me sometimes tbh.... sucks!! Lol.

I think you've got the right idea. I have taken it as a serious means of communicating with people, but they are not taking it a serious as myself so we are in effect on a completely different page... planet even!! Lol. :)
