Incident at work today -.-
So, i embarrassed myself good.
I have a morbid fear of most bugs. Especially spiders and bee's.
This morning, im working on my office computer, just doing my thing, and suddenly, theres a BIG FREAKING BUMBLEBEE, that just lands right on my monitor. Suffice to say it scared the crap out of me, and i bolted like my ass was on fire and my hair was catching.
So now, i do this and unfortunately someone saw me, and now thinks im nuts. This totally destroyed my work ethic for today, im all keyed up and tense and am jumping if my cellphone vibrates.
I have no idea where it went, i was not able to kill it. I advised my safety supervisor who's had reports of the same thing, so an exterminator is being called in.
Im sweating buckets sitting here typing this. this just wrecked my day -.-

Re: Incident at work today -.-
It's very easy for somebody to watch from a distance and wonder why you got as worked up as you did, but the fact is that a lot of people would react how you did. Bees aren't insignificant, for all the person knew, you may have been allergic to bee stings.
It would be lovely if a bee would land on his or her's monitor tomorrow and we'll see how they react, though sadly life doesn't always work like that in reality.
You're still at work now right? Maybe just go 'to the toilet' and see if there's anywhere you can get some fresh air, then take a few really deep breaths, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. And remind yourself that there's NOTHING wrong with how you reacted. Then just go back in and get back on with your day

I don't blame you man. I'm terrified of bees/wasps/bumble bees etc. I've never been stung *knock on wood*, but I'm allergic to almost any other bug bite, so I assume I'm also allergic to bee stings.
Just tell them you're very allergic to bees and they will understand! Good luck buddy.

1. I'm sure anybody would have reacted the same way (unless they're like me and totally oblivious to insects, which isn't very many people).
2. In case it happens again, a bee's worst enemy is a flamethrower.

oh bless, you poor thing, not fun, not fun at all. Here have a distraction my lateset escapade of being ridiculous:
I had a bit of a horror story, yknow what, horror doesn't do it justice haha. I have a morbid fear (as it turns out- I never knew before- never had reason to find out) of mice . Anyhow there was an incident we'll call it on friday gone(ask me when you feel better) , I won't go into it while you're on edge but Wow I am so jumpy ever since to the point of ridiculous. All the guys I live with have had a great laugh (good natured if that makes sense) because I having decided to go for a walk yd made it to the gate (which they have a great view of from the sitting room) I made it to gate and then started freaking out stomping about and taking my shoes off and hurling them across the street like a complete nutter...and came back into the house without shoes..because....wait for it....one of them squeeked and I just kept thinking there's a mouse in it....totally ridiculous ....and yes they had to retrieve my shoes .....I will never wear them again though

Re: Incident at work today -.-
If you were to tell everyone that it was a bee- I'm sure most people would understand.
I don't know many people aside from myself who aren't scared of bees-- and I'm deathly allergic to stings XD ... and don't carry a pen. haha
It's an embarrassment I'm sure you could laugh off-- just try to relax and laugh at yourself rather than focus on 'how dumb you looked' because most people would've done the same thing in your shoes.
