I just saw a headline on slashdot about scientists who have figured out how to make mice fearless! It mentions hopes for potential use towards phobias in the future, so I figured it was relevant to us. :)

What do you guys think? could prove interesting once they've worked it out completely.

Hmm, their site is down at the moment so I can't check out the article, but there was a documentary on TV last night about fear, which you might have seen since you're in NZ as well. One of the things they covered was phobias and how an old drug might have a new use in the treatment of phobias. I can't remember the name of the drug, but from memory they reckon it slows down the amigdala, the fear producing part of the brain, enough so that the rational part of the brain has time to take over.

I'll try and find more info about this on the net, but if anyone else has any information about this please share.
