Is there any point in trying to learn something new?

I've had a electronic music daw for 8 months. I really only tried using it for four of those months. But I did learn from it and even watched music theory videos.

I have no friends irl or online beyond one cousin so even if I did spend hours of free time every day learning and got decent enough to make music who would listen? I guess I could post it on forums but in my head says that would just be me trying to validate to other people that I was good/interesting in something. So then I think I'd be better off using my time on video games and TV.

1. There is absolutely nothing wrong in seeking validation for a skill you've been working on. It's normal and healthy.

2. If a man only spends his time using the creations of others and creates nothing himself, then what has he added to the world? Ultimately, what is he?

All learning helps you grow and might introduce you to even more things you love, a lot more than choosing to do nothing because of the chance of potential failure.

1. It is called a DJ. DJ's do this sorta thing when they are not being bums or whatever

2. Another thing is called being a chip-tuner. People can make music for various electronic purposes. Like a person playing music in the art gallery just to have another eye on the subject.

3. Music is great way to go in life. For me it is illustration. Personally if I took the time I could figure it out too as well.

4. About videogames and tv. Seriously TV for me nowadays is like background music I play for a shot of emotion. Videogames is the same thing. However I have been doing that forever since I was four years old. I only really watch tv in terms of just getting distracted and while I do enjoy videogames I prefer the opposite sex over a bunch of dots anytime of the day. I would rather make videogames and movies then play them.
It is far more meaningful that way.
