Jobs for people with SA

I'm 17 and it's about time I get a job...Part time of course!
I don't want a normal job for a teen my age...like being a waitress, cashier or anything like that. I don't mind talking to strangers, but I hate being criticised and couldn't handle being yelled at for mistakes and things like that. Where do you all work, and does anyone have suggestions on good places to work that aren't stressful?

Try applying at a grocery store. I work in one and most of the time im in the back decoating cakes or doing something like that. I only really have to deal with customers when I'm taking cake orders. Sometimes I'm called up to check, but you don't NEED to be trained as a checker where I work..you could just be a bagger and be called up for that instead. It's easy to be a bagger, but it's hell checking. I think in a store with many differant jobs to do they give you something to do you are good at. When I was checking a lot people would always complain about me (I would forget to give people their change all the time because my mind was always goin crazy) so anyway they havnt been calling me up because they know I'm bad at it. This worked out to my advantage because they keep me in the back and I don't have to deal with anyone and that makes a better day.

When I was a teenager I had three jobs:

1) Conveinience store clerk: AWFUL... don't do that, there are cameras pointed at the staff in most stores and people are assholes to cashiers at 7-11 type places.

2) Movie Usher: This job was pretty sweet, you could be alone at lot if you wanted to be, or you could work a lot with other people. There is box office, which is pretty secluded, projection, which is awesome, concession and ticket taking. It's easy-peasy and SA approved. Plus you get free movies ;)

I think any job you get depends on the boss and co-workers you have... but some are 'generally' easier for the shy inclined.

Oh and 3) was as a paintball arena attendant... which was the best job EVER! (except for my current one) You might wanna try for a small business type job if you don't want the "typical" teenager job. If you can get a gig at some random small business that would be really good, because in my experience small business owners are usually pretty lax and cool,so you'll feel realxed and calm, and will have a good experience.

Hope that's helpful! Stay away from convenience stores!!! BEWARE!!! ;)

and GOOD LUCK!!

I used to work at a movie theater (AMC), and it was terrible. Most of the time, the concession stand was a hectic mess with massive lines and tons of customers, and with ticket-taking I had to force a greeting to everyone who came through. You could only work in projection if you'd been there a long time.

The free movies were great, though.

I guess it depends on what particular theater you work at, but the one I worked at was awful except for the few times when I got like a Wednesday morning shift (nobody there!).

I work as a postal worker (part time). I can listen to my walkman on the job or just work as a pair (which suits me) there are certain jobs which I do avoid as a postal worker,as it sends my stress levels up. It is the longest job I've had (over 6 years) and overall it has been kind to me. It's not perfect and sometimes I have bad evenings :(
There are plenty of jobs that you can do as a postal worker on your own and when you are busy it takes your mind of things. :)
