I had joined FB a while back at someone's urging ( :eek:mg: )...ugh. Now I ask why the hell did I do that? I'll get rid of it soon enough because it seems quite useless (just heightens my anxiety for some reason) -- the only real beneficial thing I see is if you are promoting something (if you own business or similar) or are trying to network finding a job or something like that.

OK, so I saw a lot of people who had posted their pictures....is EVERYONE having the time of their life, grabbing life by the balls and out every single day or night doing something fun and adventurous and really, do you take THAT MANY photos of yourself/pet/food?

Yes, I am naive to the social media thing but jeez....

I about had a panic attack just browsing around! LOL
I haven't posted any photos on there, and I had requests popping up everywhere...you may know this person from that person who knows this person...

Ah want tae forget aboot ma school days and git on wi' ma life"

@graeme1988 yup, I do know what ya mean! It's weird how so many 'friend requests' pop up and you're thinking, hell no...I don't know this person (unless I was outrageously drunk...hmmm,

Ya know what bro... leaving fb was the best decision i ever made! Ive been facebook free for 2 years now and it feels great. No more hearing about how this person had a well good night and how this person thinks everyone should look at their new fancy hippy da hop haircut. Or wondering what you should write to be more popular and seek out more likes (thats what i used to do... yeah what a looser right! LOL)
Ya know what.... im so happy to get away from that.... it really made me think of whats more important... how i seem on the internet? :/ or how i am in real life and how i feel about myself!

But facebook is okay i guess. It's just not good for me.

^^^umm friend requests are a GOOD thing..who cares if it was someone u knew for 5 minutes back 15 years ago, that person took it upon themselves to recognize you and reach out to be your friend..thats a positive about social media..go ahead and accept their request..im not sure how/why you are reading into that in a negative manner

that said, most definitely for people like us, when you go on facebook you will see that people actually have SOCIAL LIVES...it is very upsetting or depressing for people like us to realize how much our lives differ from normal people...yeah, its almost freaky how much other people go out and socialize and be around others..i dont know how they do it but also they usually are trying to fluff up their feathers in a way...they do lead much more social outgoing lives than us(not even a comparison imo) but they also like to portray themselves as having much more of an active/exciting life than they really do..so take what u see with a grain of salt...

Yeah, FB gives me anxiety. This is what I have to remind myself of when I look at FB:

I got in contact with my cousins through Facebook we have a lot in common. I keep in contact with my niece and other relos. I have a few positive running friends, a page for my photos. And I can use it to get stuck into right wing politicians.

I don't see FB as a bad thing. In fact I can communicate on FB in a positive way that I can't seem to do in person. It is the least of my concerns to be honest.
