Hm, I only did a brief google search and read some of this thread...

It seems root powder/traditional use of plant might be okay-ish, but then again hmm? How do you know your supplier only bought root powder?
And people say it can be costly?? And that some can get 'addicted' too? (Or can have allergies...) Or you may think you can't get better or do things without it??

I think it's better to try to learn other techniques for relaxation, even herbs can sometimes have strong or unforseen effects..
Have you tried CBT yet? Or EFT/TAT/journalling etc? Exercise/going for walks EVERY DAY or a support group....?
Nutrition/lifestyle changes, learning problem-solving techniques etc.

I've gone to job interviews, talked to people, did some flirting etc - all without any iffy meds or possibly-iffy natural substances either!!

As for relaxing drinks, I like mint tea now and then (it's best to not drink too much of it either), or melissa, or some other herb teas (or mixtures) or cocoa (with no sugar/sweetener)... I like 'yogi tea' too, 'classic' version.. (a mix with cinnamon and black pepper etc), very occasionally...

Didn't do well with (too much) green tea and don't dare to drink too much caffeine either..
Even some (other, considered 'harmless') herbal pills for relaxation had a weird effect on me (1 pill, no results, 2 pills=I was a zombie) so I think it's good to be careful with herbal things too!!
