Erm.

With the CBT I'm having, she's trying to get me to twist the negative thoughts into possitive ones. At this point I don't have to believe the twisted round thoughts, just need to get used to them being possitve then I can take them in.
Also, repeating something that went good 3 times at the end of the day such as 'I went into the canteen all by myself today'
It sounds naff but it can work...

I have recently purchased a workbook "Mind Over Mood" by Dennis Greenberger, PhD and Christine A. Padesky, PhD. It basically starts with the situation and you determine your mood and what automatic thoughts are set off. You pick the hotest thoughts and find evidence to support those thoughts. Then you write evidence that does not support the hot thoughts. Then you come up with alternate balanced thoughts and then see how your mood changes. They have a rating scale.

It has been a help to me. I set up the situation before it happens. Such as attending a party. It is really amazing to come back later to see all the negative thoughts and terrible outcomes you could expect. Usually, nothing like this happens at all.

Check it out. The library probably has a copy if you want to look at it first. I am sure there are a lot of good workbooks out there.

Hope this helps.
