Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale Test

So, I took the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale Test, which I hadn't actually done before.

I got: 44(fear) + 51(avoidance) = 95 "Very severe social anxiety". Great. I mean, not that I didn't already know that. Not that I haven't been diagnosed with S.A. but still, it frustrates me for some reason.

Anyway, I was wondering what other people scored? The link is

I got a 28. Apparently I do not suffer from Social Anxiety. Not a great test. There are certain events that trigger severe anxiety for me that are not listed.

Your Score:

53(fear) + 49(avoidance) = 102

You have very severe social anxiety.

I wish they can be more specific about the questions, such as differentiate between online and offline meetings. Online meetings cause me considerably less anxiety than offline meetings.

I agree with my score.
40(fear) + 34(avoidance) = 74 Marked Social Phobia

55-65 Moderate social phobia
65-80 Marked social phobia
80-95 Severe social phobia
Greater than 95 - Very severe social phobia

I've taken this several times on other threads by now. I got around the same score I have previously.

60(fear) + 53(avoidance) = 113
You have very severe social anxiety.

Sounds about right...

You do not suffer from social anxiety.

*shrugs* I'm 33. I worked on coping with my SA, and it turns out ok so far.

I don't like such tests. I guess most people consciously or subconsciously try to answer them in a way that give them the result they hope for, instead of answering what they really think.

29(fear) + 29(avoidance) = 58
You have moderate social anxiety.

Perhaps some differences I may have with many:
16. Speaking up at a meeting: 0, 0 -- which doesn't mean I speak up all the time, but I generally wait until I have something useful to say.
18. Expressing disagreement or disapproval to someone you don't know very well: 0, 0

Also no problems with eating, drinking, and writing in public/while being "observed."

My Score:

48(fear) + 53(avoidance) = 101
You have very severe social anxiety.

I never expected to get this high! I had so many 0-scores so I thought maybe I would only get 80 max!

I don't take these tests too seriously but the good thing with this one is that it seems to show how you improved - a lot of the situations stated, I can answer moderate, even mild in some cases, when I would have had to answer severe for most of them a couple of years ago. :)

Edit: I still scored 101 though. What the hell :idontknow:

17(fear) + 28(avoidance) = 45

You do not suffer from social anxiety.

I think this is probably right.

"25(fear) + 15(avoidance) = 40

You do not suffer from social anxiety."

Huh?

I think I got this score because I tend to make myself do things I find uncomfortable, socially-speaking, up to a certain threshold of fear. If I'm terrified I avoid it. I am not terrified of most social actions, just uncomfortable, so I put "mild" fear for most of them and "never" and "occasionally" avoid for all except two - expressing disagreement/disapproval and getting to know someone for the purpose of a potential romantic relationship.

In reality I think I have mild to moderate social phobia for most things except being assertive, and that varies greatly depending on the situation, person/people I'm dealing with, my mood, etc.

I've taken the test four times over the last two months and got 80,70,66,66.
Maybe the score varies depending on your mood at the time of the test but overall I think it's pretty accurate.
