46 (fear) + 51 (avoidance) = 97: Very severe social anxiety.

Hmm... I don't know if I find the test that accurate. I don't feel as though my SA is really that bad.

I just recently found out I have social anxiety and I took this test a few times now to see how it changes....
Some days it's very severe social phobia and other days it's severe.

I don't particulary like this test because the results you get are not that precise... Most of the time I was confused about what to choose from the list. I mean, there are a lot of factors that can contribute to your anxiety/fear level when for example you're giving a party (a party for whom? friends? family members? strangers?). If I would give a party for my close friends I wouldn't experience fear... at least not to that degree that I would say that it's interfering with my life. But if those people were strangers my anxiety level would go way up.
Plus, how would you define if your fear is mild, moderate or severe? Everyone has different physical symptoms and what I would call severe fear would for some other person mean moderate.

And also..... drinking with others.... in my case, I drink when I get myself to go out so that I can get some relief and get more comfortable in social situations, it helps my anxiety.

Any other (better) tests we could take? :D

Fear (53) + Avoidance (49). Total = 102. I little high I think but I answered as best I could

I remember taking this test and posting my score on that forum. Decided to take again.

71(fear) + 69(avoidance) = 140

You have very severe social anxiety.

Actually found my post from that time as well. The first test I took I got 141, the next test after months of therapy and meds I got 139.

I get different results from time to time, but the test usually tells me that I have "marked social anxiety", like now: 36 (fear) + 38 (avoidance) = 74

I got 'marked social anxiety' as well, can't remember the exact scores. I plan to visit my GP about this (Finally) next week, so maybe I'll take the test again in a year to see if there's any difference.

61 fear and 59 avoidance. 120 = severe social anxiety

I did one of these a while and got around the same score :/ and I thought I was improving

I don't really trust these tests. I got 44 each on fear and avoidance, which is 88, and "severe social phobia." Really? I don't think it's as bad as the one-dimensional test provides. While it's unnerving to go out sometimes, I can still do it.

I can't really take these scores to heart, and neither should anyone else.

This test doesn't really cover the things that cause my anxiety.

Anyways I have moderate social anxiety. I know that in some situations it can be severe.

I scored 60.

Your Score:

53(fear) + 49(avoidance) = 102

You have very severe social anxiety.

I wish they can be more specific about the questions, such as differentiate between online and offline meetings. Online meetings cause me considerably less anxiety than offline meetings.

I took the test again, 9 months later. I scored an 82, which means a 20 point drop. I must be improving alright. Though, the score might not be accurate because there was a question about romantic relationships which does not apply to me.

You have very severe social anxiety.

I'm kind of surprised that my score is that high, but I do avoid things as much as possible if there is any element of fear on my part, so I answered "usually" to several questions in regards to avoiding.

You have marked social anxiety.

Interesting, because I'm sure a couple of years ago I would have been marked as severe. As some of you say, the test could be more extensive and cover more examples, but it makes for a short casual check, which is basically what you should find in a website.

I got a 28. Apparently I do not suffer from Social Anxiety. Not a great test. There are certain events that trigger severe anxiety for me that are not listed.

I got 44, which also means I don't have social anxiety. But two psychiatrists diagnosed me as having it many years apart. Most recently in 2011 -- not too long ago.

Pretty much what I expected. I guess I will have to aim to get that number down to severe! lol how funny. My goal now is to have severe social anxiety :)
