Looking to run away

I live in Canada, I thought it was quiet and a great place to live. Over the past couple of years though Canada has gotten more violent and noticed. It honestly scares me because for me an ideal place to live is somewhere quiet and rarely noticed. I just want to leave my life here and go somewhere where I can feel like I'm at home. I'm thinking of finding a job, maybe even learn a new language. Then maybe pack my bags and not come back, I have a loving family and friends. It's just my fears and anxiety are starting to control me, I don't know what else to do.

even though you hear of all the bad things, none of that has happened to you. quit being a worrywart. and it will be even tougher to survive on your own.

I'm sorry for posting this I was having an anxiety attack and it was a spur of the moment I don't know why things like this get to me. I don't want them to, I don't want to be a worrywart as you say. I just have a hard time with anxiety, and sometimes I just want to escape I just don't know how.

You want to know how I got these scars?

He doesn't need to 'quit being a worry wart'... This is a SA forum after all. And Danny certainly doesn't need to apologise for his post.

Diend you may think of Danny's concerns as nothing to worry about.
But if you were living his life you'd probably think otherwise.

Not home

Don't be sorry for posting it, you have all the right to feel the way you do. I often want to run away too, to somewhere new hoping it will "change" me and give me a whole new life. I've found it doesn't really work that way, I've been the same person where ever I end up. I need to change myself first I guess. If you think finding a new place would up your happiness I would say go for it. It's at least worth the experience, especially if you can always come back home if it doesn't work out quite as planned. What kind of countries would you want to go to? I imagine a place without a hint of violence or chaos being pretty distanced from a big city area.

I have been looking at Denmark. I find it is a beautiful country and a couple of years there might boost my confidence.

I used to think the world was going downhill, until I decided to give up on the media. All the news does is spread panic and photos of people in misery. Give up on the news and newspapers and you'll start to like where you live and people in general.

I understand, thing is I don't read it. It's the people around me talking about it and saying stuff like "This is just the beginning" and such it causes me a lot of anxiety hearing people say that.

This might be the best advice, things always happen and will happen, don't focus too much on them to the point of worrying.

Doesn't pei stand for prince edouard island? Kitesurf paradise? Endless white beaches? Lobster kingdom? If you want to move because you are bored, I would say go for it. But if you want to move because you think the place you live in is dangerous, I would agree with Winja that you should throw your tv and computer in the trash and go play outside. Unless I have the wrong idea about pei.

Yeah like other people said don't watch the news. It's hard because sometimes it just pops when you don't want it to. If you want to move I'd visit it first to make sure it's what you want. You can always move back.

Recent news events do make it appear that way. But, Canada is relatively safe. And, you have a great support network there.

I often daydream about moving to another country. But, wherever you go, there you are.

It's just changed, I don't know if it's always been this way and it's just that I'm growing up and hearing about it. I just don't know if this is the normal PEI or a changed one.

I know it just scares me with what people say. I always worry about everywhere! Even places I don't live in, even places I'm far from. I just can't stop worrying and I think exploring the world learning about different places might help lower that anxiety. Because honestly I don't explore often, and I sit around and hear everything. I just don't know how to react and the world scares me.

I just realized my other post was completely pointless so I'm gonna try to be relevant this time.

Your problem doesn't seem to be about the country or place you live in at all, it's about worrying way too much, which obviously makes you unhappy.

Since trying to give advice about how to stop worrying sounds like a lot of work to me because it's a long process, I just googled it and found a lot of things about it (which is not surprising). Have you ever tried to get a self-help book about it or something? Internet is an endless pit of resource. I think I read once that you have autism (or am I mistaken you for someone else?), if this is the case you might also want to try including that factor in your research.

What I'm trying to say I guess, is that, once you decide that there is something about you that you want to improve, everything becomes possible if you get pro-active.

See I have read self help books, I've gotten into meditation, I worked my *** off for the past year trying to find a remedy. I just worry to much it's really hard to not worry about anything. Me and my life coach work on it too but often I'm to scared to bring it up which I think I should start doing.
