Moving away - constant state of anxiety.

I'm moving with my guy from the West Coast to the East Coast. It's a wholeee other way of life. I already moved here from another country for him, and this is a work promotion for him too. I don't really like where i'm at, but moving to an entirely new place all over again, learning the new driving rules, how people act etc is terrifying.

Plus the actual packing and moving is sooo stressfull. I have 4 cats to fly over with us, all our stuff is getting driven across the country for a week so when we arrive on the East coast it won't be there yet. I'm trying to think of all the things I have to change our address for... bank, credit cards etc.

I'm just in this constant state of anxiety and there's not much I can do about it, it would be stressfull for anyone. We're biting eachothers heads off from time to time and there's just so much to do.

I guess I just wanted to vent :(

Consider this... At least you have someone to love and share your existence with. I plan on making the opposite move (East coast to West coast), and I'm going alone. I have no idea if it's the right decision, but how will I know if I don't try? At least you're moving for a real purpose. I'm moving mostly just to get away for a while from the hellhole that I currently call home. If it works, I'll stay....If not, who knows. Spend less time worrying about the future and more time organizing it. If you've got everything buzzing through your head all the time, then I'm sure you can organize it all on paper and make yourself feel a whole lot more in control of the situation.

I've been through that a few times myself. I always made tons of lists on what to do before leaving like calling banks, having things shut off, etc. Lists give me a sense of control over the situation....nothing will completely get rid of the anxiety but an open mind is the best thing. I was negative about a move to Germany so I never accepted it. But I just couldn't help myself :)

Also, if you just do what you have to do and maybe find ways to relax so it won't be non-stop anxiety.
