I'm not sure how you deal with all of that. I certainly don't miss the apartment life living in the city. They're always too hot or too cold, too small and cost a fortune, always a high risk of having pests no matter what you do or how clean you are, and of course you always have those
lovely neighbors.
When we first moved into our apartment two years ago, we had 3 different tenants up there within 6 months. We were downstairs, right below them, and we could hear everything anyone did up there.
One couple, all they did was stomp up and down the stairs like a herd of elephants. Slammed doors all the time too, like they didn't know their own strength as to how to shut a door. Always hung out in the hallways conversing. It was annoying. Even worse was the next tenant. And I will never forget this one. A woman in her 30s, an alcoholic, and had a new man stop by every single week. But there was always the regular guy. On again, off again boyfriend? Friend with
extra benefits? Who knows. All I know is that she when she wasn't yelling at the guy and slamming doors, she was having incredibly loud sex at odd hours of the day and night.
mg: It got to the point where I would have to wear earplugs at night because she would literally wake me up. My bf would be outside shoveling snow some mornings and could hear her outside, windows were closed obviously. When she didn't have a guy over, she would listen to the tv so loud, I could hear exactly what she was watching. (She watched Jerry Springer and Maury a lot) If she wasn't watching tv, I could hear her talking on the phone. She was just so loud all the time, it drove me insane. Drove us both insane, actually. The day she got evicted I think we celebrated.
After that a normal tenant finally moved in, a girl in her 20s that just kept to herself and hardly ever around. Just when we thought it was all over, we had mice issues and hornet issues. By that point though, we were done and sick of it.
My bf and I got out as soon as we could, got our own place earlier this year instead of renting again. Best decision we ever made.
