New to this forum and I'm glad to know there is an active community still willing to share their thoughts and experiences!
To make a long story short, I noticed in february of 2013 (I just turned 25 in may of 2014) that my feet wouldn't stop sweating. I swear, it's as if it happened over night. I haven't felt the same since. Slowly but surely, HH started spreading under my arms and on my hands, in my day to day activities. Since then I've been actively searching for the cause of this unpleasant disorder.
I've been to the doctor only once so far, and it was not long after I started noticing sweat coming from my feet, hands and armpits. He prescribed Drysol (I'm sure many of you have tried this already). Now, in my experience, this has worked for me, but only for my armpits. I'd apply some on before bed, and it seemed to work for a week at a time. I repeated the process for about 6 months, and after a while I actually didn't need to apply any because my under arm sweating seemed to have disappeared! There was one trade off however. Aluminum Chloride blocks the pores right? So eventually this seemed to have permanently blocked off my armpit pores, resulting in gradual, compensatory sweating in my buttcheeks and groin area(mainly butt crack haha). I was none too happy about this, but hey, at least it meant not having to deal with under arm sweat stains.
I've been reading about the so called HH 'quick fixes' and 'solutions' and they all have one thing in common. Blocking the pores. I don't know if my new found sweating in groin and buttox areas are a direct result from this, but something just isn't right. These are not solutions. They just seem to redirect the problem elsewhere.
Recently I've been searching for natural ways to counter this problem. After all, hyperhidrosis is about an inbalance in your system. I've read about people who managed to overcome their HH by changing their diet, or cutting out certain foods. Apparently it can be caused by a high amount of toxicity in our bodies, sometimes caused by indulding in foods that our bodies can no longer tolerate, resulting in them having to work twice as hard to eliminate toxins. Sweating can be a result of our bodies wanting to rid themselves of unwanted toxicity! I'm sure many of you have thought about this. Wheat, gluten and dairy products are often the culprits.
Another thing I read about recently was a correlation between mercury poisoning and HH. Sufferers who have amalgam teeth fillings should consider getting them removed, because it can be directly caused by this. Over the years, little by little the mercury from these fillings can creep into your system and cause a myriad of problems, sometimes not noticable at first, but HH is one of them. I myself have amalgam teeth fillings and have thinking about getting them removed.
