North American women = slovenly evil?

Hey ya'll.

So I found this article posted on Facebook: Are North American Women Really THAT Bad? | Taken by the Wind | Taken by the Wind

I have no problem with the article, but the comments... Holy sh*t. Just read some of them! If I didn't know any better, I'd say that equality in relationships/marriage involved ass kissing and completely putting your partner before yourself. I found it rather appalling that one woman (from the States, I believe) practically looks down on other Americans who don't travel. Um, hello, traveling is expensive and we're not all rich, mmkay?

To say I felt pissed off after getting a dose of some of these nasty attitudes would be an understatement, and right now I have a bunch of jumbled thoughts in my head. I figured posting here would help to get some of the anger off my chest.

What do you guys think? And dear Lord, please refrain from any nasty "debates."

I think a lot of this attitude is subjective and has to do with cultural differences. America is one of the few countries in the world where gender equality is valued. The feminist movement and sexual revolution brought about the empowerment of women. However in other countries, not so. Women are treated as inferior to men and don't have equal rights (or many rights for that matter).

So now, imagine a man from a patriarchal country meeting an American woman. The American woman, unlike the local women, is very assertive, talkative, and not afraid to say what's on her mind or start arguments. The man might feel offended by this because he is not used to being treated this way. He thinks women should be more humble and submissive, like the women from his country.

One of the main complaints that the article (and the comments) talks about is the whole idea of North American women wanting to be put on a pedestal, treated like royalty, and having everything in a relationship done their way. I think that these particular women defeat the purpose of equality in relationships just as much as the submissive woman who lets her male partner dictate everything.

You have complaints that these women who grew up with "feminazism" cause relationships to be unequal (and therefore more divorce), yet how does the woman who is the exact opposite make things more equal? She doesn't.

I will keep my opinion short,I think women are becoming like men and
in the west it is happening faster and men= bad, crap.
Of course as always there are exceptions.
I like some japanese girls, but I am not willing to live in Japan forever,to do so would drive me crazy or drive me to suicide.

It's the internet. You're gonna get a lot of nasty comments when people have immunity from their consequences. Take 'em with a grain of salt.

It does depend on individual preferences. Some guys probably like being put on a higher pedestal, some guys want equality in relationships, and other guys (probably very few) want to be dominated by their female partner.
