oh the noise they make when they come up from the ground for 1-2 months this time of year makes me feel like I'm going crazy. I'm sure it's just anxiety and annoyance. I asked someone, when I first moved here, what is all that buzzing, they said they didn't hear it. They got used to the noise, but for me it's so irritating...

*no meaning to this post - just venting LOL*

Are they in Canada? I wonder if the pest companies will take care of them?

When you got pests, call BORDEN Pest, they'll handdle your problem.

I really liked when a huge amount of them all came out one year. They were everywhere. What was so good about it was that the fish really liked them. Me, my dad, and a friend of his got these lures that looked just liked them and had fun catching a lot of big carp.

Absolutely_Sweet_Marie might know what I'm talking about.

I like the noise, really.

Where I spent most of my childhood-- we lived in a town where trains would go by our house 27 times a day (and all night, too)
And now that I've spent several years living away from trains; I miss the rumbling and the sounds. It's something comforting from my childhood that I miss as an adult.
(and once I reach the point of buying a house for myself, I'll get one for cheap beside some traintracks)

Same thing goes for the sound of bullfrogs and crickets in the summer.
I can't hear any of those sounds here because we're not rural enough.

I also miss having a steel roof.
The sound it made when hail or rain pelted down was hypnotic and relaxing.

I personally can't stand silence.
When it's too quiet-- my mind has too much to think about.
If there's some kind of white noise; my mind isn't as loud and annoying.

i love to hear the cicadas sing

and the crickets, and the frogs

there's no better music in the world

This would be perfect for anyone would has chronic Tinnitus. Maybe I need to move to Illinois to listen to them. Where I'm from we have the bull frogs, but they seem to be not as many around anymore. I actually loved to listen to them because I would concentrate on them instead of the constant ringing in my ears. I guess if I didn't have tinnitus that I would probably be annoyed too. But it that was the case I would want to live somewhere it was quiet to truly appreciate it like before I got Tinnitus. Well, come to think of it, Lipo-Flavonoid really helped dull down the buzzing in my ears that was happening, so I guess I don't need the bull frogs after all! That is really a big tree and backyard you have! At least you don't have a highway behind you, those can all be annoying and always constantly making noise. Hope the CICADAS are a little quieter for you.
