Overwhelming fear of surgery

I have always been scared of surgery. The idea of being cut open scares me. Recently I found out I may need surgery on my toe because of an ingrown nail. It's not a big procedure but the idea scares me so badly that I get anxiety attacks. I've never had surgery in my life and needles it self is a struggle for me. I usually have to have my life coach or someone to go in and help me get my needle done. I feel childish for having these fears but they always make me anxious and panic.

I had laser surgery when I had an ingrown toenail. Actually twice. Now I'm very careful how I cut my nails. Toe injuries from sports or other things can cause them.

There's nothing to be anxious about. It's a fast and virtually painless procedure. They may use a needle to numb the area infected.

Hello,

From experience I can tell you that the more you don't give a toss, the better it is.

Just stick to the facts and tell yourself that it is for your own good, since it's fixing your body.

And maybe tell yourself that there are far worse health conditions.
