Pee feeling?

Does anyone else get the feeling they need to pee a lot even though they don't? I know it's not a physical or medical thing, i'm pretty sure it's down to nerves and me telling myself I have to go to the bathroom. I HATE it. As soon as I lay down in bed, even though i've just peed I think "I should go again" It's so annoying.
I also need to know where the bathrooms are when I go to the movies... and if they're too far away I sit during the film thinking "I'm going to have to pee soon but the bathroom is too far away, this is going to suck" haha.

Yes the same thing happens to me. Its all in my mind. I try not to drink too much if i'm going out somewhere so i don't have to worry about finding a bathroom. And try to divert my mind to other things. And especially when i go to the movies i don't want to have to get up during the movie and feel as if everyone is staring at me.

Yeah, I always have to pee when I am out somewhere. My husband and son can go for hours without needing to pee, but it seems like my bladder is overactive. Not when I'm at home, just when I'm out somewhere. It must be nerves. Feeling anxious maybe makes a person feel like they've got to pee more often. It is really annoying and inconvenient  .

I'm more of a vomit person, my throat is always doing the gag dance when I have to go out

nah, but i do have experience with butterflies in my stomach! it's actually a sensation i would miss if it ever just stopped happening. the adrenaline pumping usually works to my benefit though which is always a plus.

as for the pissing thing, it could definitely be a medical problem, or just as simple as OCD. or maybe whenever you go out, you confront the cold weather and that triggers a need to piss. also i don't know about you, but i drink a lot of caffeinated drinks while at the movies, so that's nowhere near uncommon.

Yes but i mostly get irritable bowel before stuff like interviews. I'm sure i lose tons of weight before situations such as job interviews, because to put it bluntly everything i eat almost instantly comes out the other end.

yes, I always have to know where the bathrooms are and if im at the movies or in school I always have to sit in an aisle seat so I can get up and go. Ive learned that water usually takes an hour to turn to pee, so i plan accordingly.

yup panic attacks with that feeling your gonna pee.. but when you go to the bathroom nothing happens and you feel even more worthless, then have to go back out into the situation knowing you need to pee and its possibly going to happen.. or atleast i do

i theorise its from a bedwetting thing, i'm 22 and without a tablet it's garenteed..

i encourage anyone reading to let out anything they see as a problem and shamefull.. especially over the internet with its level of safety from negative input

i for one want to know everything i can so i can stand a fighting chance.. and i like to think people reading my inapropriate ramblings see themselfs a little clearer from sharing my world

I felt similar things around early teenage but not anymore. I think girls pees more than boys. However I doubt many girls shit 3 times a day like I do. XD I had alot of gasproblems in early-middle teenage too. XD I felt like I needed to fart all the time, at least in axious social sitations, which didn't make it better. (>,>)

Oh wow, I get like that a lot too. The whole I'll lay down in bed and then have the thought, "hmm, I think I have to go again" even though I just went. I sort of have a fear of peeing the bed. lol. Although I don't really know why. I basically never even peed the bed when I was a little kid, yet now I'm older and have an irrational fear that I'm all of a sudden going to start peeing the bed. lol.

And I also always have to know where the bathroom is located. I scope it out when I walk into buildings.

Me too! Interviews and presentations are the best laxative I've ever known.

The funny thing is that I actually feel quite well after the interview/presentation which makes me think that my system has been 'cleared out'!!! A bit like having colonic irrigation for free....

ditto. It's especially embarrassing when this hits while you're in a public place and have no way to remove yourself to the bathroom.

Absolutely. It seems like everyone else never goes to the toilet but I do. And it's the same thing at night, I'll get up again and go even though I've just been. I always thought it was a problem with my body but I guess it could be anxiety too. I remember I went to the toilet every few minutes before I had to catch a plane. And on the plane too, that was embarassing because people have nothing to do but stare at you.

i totally understand what your going threw! i am the exact same way, i know why i am this way, its because when i was in the third grade i really needed to go to the bathroom at the end of the day and the teacher wouldnt let me so i got on the bus having to go and when i got on i ran off and the bus driver said she wouldnt wait for me, its affected me a lot since then, i was really upset for a while and had to keep going but now im alright, i started to get nervous like that again in 6th grade, its goes away though, i really hoped i helped. reading about all you guys with the same problem has truely helped me.

Yep i get this feeling whenever i'm out in a social situation, also feel like i have a dodgy stomach too, grrr to the nerves hehe!

I believe it's called overactive bladder.
Overactive bladder + coffee + a bottle of water + sitting in the middle of the lecture hall + SA of standing up and walking out of the room = disaster
Ok I didn't pee my pants but it came close

I'm go the washroom twice a day thats it. For those with over active bladders, don't drink caffeine or alcohol, both are diuretics and make you pee a lot.

I once read a book named: Why zebras don't get ulcers by Robert M. Sapolsky.

In the book it states that as soon as a zebra (or other prey) is attacked by a lion (or other predator) it empties its bladder and stomach. The urine and faeces is extra weight hampering its escape.

We "clever" animals stress out more often and our bodies goes through the same motions. We can inhibit the actual peeing in public because it is not socially acceptable...
