People laughing public = laughing at me??

Why is it when people laugh in public I think they are laughing at me?
When I look to see what those people are laughing at I see that it's not
me then why is that an initial thought I have?

You've been laugh at before. Probably many times that it has been ingrained to your brain that people are always laughing at you.

I think everyone feels that way. we automatically think the worst.
Question is why? I am interested to know.

I used to feel that way too, but the truth is that they're just having fun and laughing with their friends
I know that and rationally I know the chance they are laughing at me is
slim.
My questions is more along the lines why is that my first initial though?

Sure, I have been laughed at but everybody has I think. Does that mean
even those that have not been laughed at think the same thing when
somebody laughs in public?

Nope, it has to be many times before your subconscious mind can memorize the pattern.
