^Totally agree with you there, hoddesdon!

^ My thoughts when I see wild animals are like yours.

I frequently watch birds fly around in the large trees in my backyard.

They are so god damn FREE!
They can go wherever they want, do whatever they want, whenever they want.
I look at them with such ferocious burning envy.

I flap my arms and try to take off and join them.

I imagine quite a number of wild animals (if they were to fully comprehend what societal life was like) would say something similar about our lives, though. ''A bunch or forms and structure, but as a trade I don't risk getting eaten every second of my life? Yeah, sign me up.''

The grass is always greener on the other side.

My mum bought a new tv a few days ago. Our old one was one of those pretty old ones, and I didn't really enjoy watching TV there because I don't like most stuff on TV.
This new one has a good size and has USB entries, which means I can watch whatever I want there. I tried watching an anime episode there and it was pretty nice, mostly because I could lie on the couch instead of sitting in front of my computer screen. The sound wasn't the best but I can try to tweak it or buy one of those wireless headphones.

I think I'll watch anime on the TV a lot from now on. Only when no one else is home of course.

I don't understand why people look so shocked when I say I throw away the chocolates my grandmother forces onto me.

Someone gives her a box of chocolates (last one was about 25 or something), she eats one and forces the rest onto me. She's always offering them to me and won't get off my grill until I take two, even though I constantly tell her I can't eat it because my teeth are really prone to cavities and they hurt when I eat sugary stuff (probably a psychological thing because of some serious issues I had in my teeth, but it still hurts). She doesn't care, or maybe doesn't understand because she's all happy when her own teeth fall off. Either way, I don't like her very much and having her pester me until I take a chocolate is really annoying so I just take the two to get her off me.

People tell me I shouldn't throw it out, I should give them to someone else instead. Yeah, sure. Who can I give it to? Only person that is around is my mother. My grandmother offers her chocolates and she refuses. She told me I could give mine to her, but she doesn't like eating sweet stuff either, and I'm pretty sure she won't eat 2 every day until the box is empty. Besides, almost every chocolate in the last box fell on the floor, I ain't eating off the floor nor giving it to anyone.

In the end, she only ate one chocolate from that box. She took one when she opened the box and the rest was given to my mother and forced onto me over the next days. She still said they were very good, with a tone/context that implied she had been eating them regularly, which she didn't do at all. I don't know why she doesn't eat them though, her diet must be 95% sugar so it's not because she dislikes sweet stuff.

I could live and work on my own happily. Over the past few years that is when I have been happiest time on my own. Of course I am not alone, the fun runs I share with thousands of other runners, but I enjoy my own thoughts and expectations. I don't desire close company.

I feel lonely around people, well to be honest I feel fearful around people. I don't feel lonely or fearful on my own, just free to dream and open to experience.

You want to know how I got these scars?
He is a tragedy.

Yea, just slightly less of a tragedy than the Greens or Labor..

Thats the problem with the Aus political system. We just keep flipping back and forth between dumb and dumber because we only really have two major parties

Nah, the man is a cretin, way beneath any other party that has ever existed, even other conservative Governments. This Government is backward and behind other parties all over the world, and makes Australia a laughing stock. The NSW Liberals are moderate by comparison, proving as a conservative you can have a social and environmental ethic and support science and don't need to be completely dumb fundamentalists ratbags as Abbott and his Government is. And I don't like Labor or the Greens. This mob lack any humanity at all. They'd rather cut funding to mental health, than to upset their corporate buddies overseas.

I keep doing stuff to get ready for uni: getting all the books, printing out all tables of contents, figuring out which chapters correspond to which part of the programme, and so on. I'm not even forcing it or procrastinating, it's just happening. I hope this continues when the semester starts.

Not too good. A loved one has been acting really strange for the last few months. In a manner usually indicative of something bad. I tried my best to just be there for them and not mention it. Then recently I came across something. It's not solid evidence but it heavily implies that my gut feeling was true. I did not seek this "evidence" out. It just came up. I asked them about it and they dodged the question then got extremely mad at me for asking. I haven't heard from them in a while.

I love them so much and I've known them for a long time but it's starting to look like I'll never see them again. I sent them about 3 texts trying to get them to talk to me. I think 3 is a good number. It shows I want to talk to them but it's not going overboard or anything. But now I'm just giving them space and it is agony.

Geesh, that's horrible, SCP. Good on you for trying to find out what ails them, though. It's all but an requirement for family and loved ones, but still, good on you. Many would've simply bailed on that responsibility.

I hope the truth reveals itself soon and it isn't something overbearingly bad.

its interesting how SOME people have different faces that they show to different people according to who they're around...so really you never know what they're capable of until they show you a certain face of theirs that you never knew they had....and only THEN do you know how two-faced/multiple-faced they are....kind of like that Jerry Sandusky guy or the character from that wolf of wall street movie.......it really kind of makes me sick how some people are knowingly deceptive and its seen as almost commonplace....its just a THING that people do....its like who can you REALLY trust?...and how can you tell which of their many faces is the REAL one? (metaphorically speaking)

I don't want to end up alone/friendless forever but I'm not currently desperate enough to pander to fake/two-faced people in some vain attempt at making friends....I realize that I'm on my own for now and really thats how it HAS to be because I'm not going to settle for the same old shit I used to settle for.

I can never seem to find modern science fiction that I enjoy... but I can sit down to a short story by a friend of Ellison's and love it right away. The description and rhythm even in the last few bestsellers I tried was too jarring or the pacing was too slow.

Lester del Ray is the author I started reading, if you're curious.

This is perfect! It's true that the majority of people these days are fake and deceptive so it's really hard for genuine people to find good company. Either you can leave these people alone and be satisfied on your own, which sounds like what you've chosen to do, or you can take people at face value and use them for your own intentions, accepting them as posers like the rest.

I just really need to choose more wisely who I involve myself with in the future. Its hard to do the right thing and be a good person around people who are lacking morals/values. if you're clean and you hang out with people that have dirt on them, they'll try to put dirt on you too.

reminds me of a quote I heard somewhere: "you play in the dirt, you get dirty"
